Update 2: Dump Trump Polling begins of Romney v Clinton

Last edited Mon Jul 11, 2016, 04:52 PM - Edit history (1)

Preibus named a Romney gal, Enid Mickelsen, from Utah, as RNC Rules Committee Chair; and she instantly named another Mitt pal, from Massachusetts as her co-Chair.

New word is, come the RNC Rules Committee meeting, in Colorado, thus coming week…that there already are enough Committee member votes (28) to unbind delegates, for the Dump Trump movement to change the process and free up the state delegates to vote their conscience

So that Mitt Romney may be "drafted" to run.

UPDATE No 2
Pollings begin
Hillary v Romney

According to a news source DU claims is not credible ( though Bill Singletary has been 'Spot On' about Mitt Romney issues)....the following is transpiring

".... the payoff comes next week in Cleveland when Romney walks away with the nomination.”

Source close to the situation say

Pollsters are already hard at work conducting polling that pits Mitt Romney against Democratic presumptive nominee, Hillary Clinton, in anticipation of a Romney-Clinton general election contest, according to one source close to the situation. The polling was spurred, say sources, by credible reports that the GOP Rules Committee has changed the nominating rules to open the door for Mitt Romney to challenge GOP presumptive nominee Donald Trump at next week’s Republican National Convention in Cleveland.

9. The test run was Colorado when they withheld the results of the caucus

And they laid down and didn't do nothing! So why wouldn't the RNC think they could weather a national storm. Another thing I've noticed is his base has evaporated. Where did they go? I'm not seeing the big crowds anymore so I'm thinking a coup might be possible and isdefinitely in the works.

...and retreat back into the bubble, where everything is done for him.

I still think he'll quit, but my preciction is about a year overdue.

Hell they raised $26,000,000 for him. From 400,000 donors last month.

23. So he is still drawing thousands. I haven't seen anything for a few weeks

But I haven't been checking that hard either.

I did hear about his fundraising boost and I'm not a fan.

I'm not trying to give the impression that I think he's done. It's just that he's made some odd moves lately and he doesn't seem as hot as he once was. That could just be my take tho.

27. That amount was the headline

But we won't know for sure until the June FEC report is released in mid-July, I think. Then we'll have an accurate figure for Donald Trump's campaign and its fund raising.

A second element that could be interesting has to do with the roughly $50 million that Mr. Trump lent his campaign. He made a big noise recently that he was forgiving the loans but there's no official confirmation that he's done so. If he doesn't file the necessary paperwork, it'll indicate that he wants to be repaid meaning that his "self-funded" campaign was but another scam.

32. Yes. I think $51,000,000 was the headline. $26 mil for his campaign, $25 for GOP.

I think he threw in another $4 million himself. For a total of $55 million in June. Like you said, we will find out for sure I believe on the 15th.

34. Thanks for the distinction

Your breakdown sounds about right, BlueNoMatterWho.

Won't it be fun when we discover that he didn't raise that much money and he hasn't actually forgiven the debts? His scams are coming to a head and there are very few New Yorkers, not to mention Democratic voters, who can't wait to see The Donald get his comeuppance.

2. The use of the word "delgates" instead of "members of the rules committee"

Are they one in the same? My understanding is that there needs to be 28 members of the rules committee to put it up to a vote in order for delegates to vote for someone other than who they are bound to by voting results.

5. Unbinding the delegates alone is nowhere near enough.

They also have to change the rules so that somebody who did not win a single state could be nominated.

Then they will have to convince ~600 of ~900 delegates who MAY be on the fence to jump over to their candidate.

In the world of longshots, you have a much better chance picking four numbers in numbers racket.

afraid of their base they won't make a move on Trump.
The Trump voters are the angriest Republicans ever so the GOP elected set are shaking in their boots.
They will let him do whatever he wants and deal with it.
GOP politicians know how to ride a loser like Trump (McCain, Romney, Dole) and still protect their own ass along the way.

That Mitt says he received email from his son..asking Romney to run?

And it is alsi just coincidence that Preibus picked Mitt gal...from Utah...to be RNC Rules Committee Chair?

And that she....in turn...picked a Romney guy from Massachusetts to be her co-chair?

And that Mitt's niece became head of Michigan RNC (a state Romney lost to Obama)?

45. I don't think it's coincidence as much as wishful thinking.

It takes 25% of the Republican committee to allow a floor fight. Romney can probably get 28 insiders to vote for a floor fight.

What he will not win is the required number of delegates, especially after losing in a GE, to win the nomination.

47. He will never get the delegates for the GOP nomination.

In the view of many Republicans he had his chance and blew it.

If their convention goes to a floor fight they would be hard pressed to not give it to Cruz.

It's wishful thinking for the Romney family to think it would go any other way if it goes to a floor fight. He would be climbing the Himalayas in the middle of winter believing he's going to make it if he were to try this knowing that he failed the last time during perfect weather conditions the last time he tried.
