How California was stolen from Sanders. Massive voter suppression in California documented.

1. The first punch to reduce the turnout of Bernie supporters was the media declaring Clinton the winner of the nomination before a single vote was cast on Tuesday. Why vote for Bernie if Clinton has captured the nomination? That media claim obviously hurt the voter turnout for Sanders in all the Tuesday primary states.

2. The second and more deadly punch against voters is documented in detail by Greg Palast at:

Special bulletin from Greg Palast

Gregory Allyn "Greg" Palast is a New York Times-bestselling author and a freelance journalist for the BBC as well as the British newspaper The Guardian. His work frequently focuses on corporate malfeasance but has also been known to work with labor unions and consumer advocacy groups.

Notably, he has claimed to have uncovered evidence that Florida Governor Jeb Bush, Florida Secretary of State Katherine Harris, and Florida Elections Unit Chief Clay Roberts, along with the ChoicePoint corporation, rigged the ballots during the US Presidential Election of 2000 and again in 2004 when, he argued, the problems and machinations from 2000 continued, and that challenger John Kerry actually would have won if not for disproportional "spoilage" of Democratic votes.

12. This and other campaign "dirty tricks" and slanders used against Sanders will not encourage unity.

Clinton herself, her surrogates and Democratic party leaders have done a great deal of damage against a badly damaged candidate who already is dislike and distrusted by most voters.

It's up to the superdelegates to stop Trump. And they clearly can't do it by backing the Clintons.

8. Except, the early voting had Hillary way ahead. How does he account for that.

California was going to go Hillary. The only question was how much. Sanders seems to have closed the gap in the final days in terms of polling, but hundreds of thousands and perhaps millions of votes had been cast by then.

10. Most of that is simply complaints about the hurdles NPP voters must jump to vote in a Dem primary.

Whether you agree or disagree with the hurdles, they are known well beforehand. There is no conspiracy with them. Not only that but there is a very easy solution to clearing those hurdles - change party affiliation from NPP to Dem. It is a Dem primary after all so it's not asking too much for voters to be Dems or strongly commit by following rules for obtaining a crossover ballot.

He got a notice about voting in the primary that included a form to complete to vote in the Democratic primary. He completed the form and with 2 weeks got a Democratic ballot. There was not mysterious hurdles to jump.

36. Hurdles? All I had to do was check in a box

and send back the friendly postcard asking which of four ballots I wanted (Dem, Lib, A-I or NPP) and I got a Democratic ballot. No muss. no fuss.

Now, if I hadn't done that I would have received a No Party Preference ballot, which - because I read the voters' guide the state sends out and posts on its website - I could have taken that down to my local polling place (which is printed on the county voters' guide - NPP edition - that I got) and exchange in for one of the parties that allowed NPP voters to vote in their primary.

13. This reminds me of that scene in Citizen Kane

where he's running for governor. Kane of course owns a big newspaper, and the editors have to decide what headline to run with.

The first is: "Kane Wins Election!"

The second is: "Massive Voter Fraud!"

Pretty much sums up what's happening here.

31. Expecting voters to follow the law is not stealing an election

His discussion is about the no party preference ballot. Sanders could have devoted resources to voter turnout, including informing them about the no ballot, but he chose to spend money on advertising and rallies, which is why the head of his CA campaign quit. That has been how he has proceeded throughout the campaign. Despite outspending Clinton 2-1, he has refused to devote adequate resources to organizing.

Then there is the fact this entire argument rests on the assumption that Sanders supporters are uniquely unable to figure out how to vote.

Lastly, I'm fuckng sick of these efforts to erase the votes of the majority that Sanders supporters have engaged in. You all pull this shit every tine he loss, and in the process you demonstrate absolute contempt for the voting rights of the majority who has voted for Clinton.

This is not a close result. It's a blow out. To pretend huge numbers of Sanders supporters are just too stupid to ask for the right ballot and that resulted in a swing of thirty to fifty points is utter nonsense. It's time to stop the bullshit games. if any of you had devoted a fraction of the energy to voter turnout efforts that you do complaining about election laws--all known years in advance--he might be doing better. Ultimately the thing you all can't come to terms with is that elections require organizing and hard work. No one is owed power simply because they believe themselves better than the rest of the human race. Votes have to be earned, and that is something Bermie and his supporters have never believed applied to them. They thought--and continue to think--voters owe Bernie their votes, and that the nomination is owed to him because he and his supporters are certain they are superior to the majority they have treated with contempt throughout this election. Next time, try persuasion instead of insults and working to turn out voters rather than nurturing extremely unattractive persecution complexes. There is no conspiracy to deprive the white male bourgeoisie of their uncontested grip on power. You're just living in a changing America where other people also matter.

37. There was one precinct in San Francisco

that used to have its polling place in a Starbucks. I stopped in once: they shoved a bunch of tables aside and set up the polling place in the back of the store.

When I moved to Californian in 1976 I was surprised that my polling place was somebody's garage. I've since voted in a firehouse, a couple of churches halls, the laundry room of an apartment complex, and the lobby of an office building (they provided donuts). While I'm a permanent mail voter, I did have an assigned polling place for this election - a rec room in a senior center.

42. Thanks, imagine2015. Good to know investigators are looking into this shit.

What happened last night was intentional voter suppression by the corporate media on behalf of its corporate candidate, demonstrating a refusal to honor our electoral system and to respect the voters of six primaries.

Where have we seen this callous disrespect for law and for our system of government? Oh, that's right. Another investigator, James Comey, is looking into it.

I hope last night's fun and games can be added to the charges leveled. I hope our government and country can rid itself of such contamination in the future.

We deserve better.
