It's ridiculous what people have to go through in order to vote.

There's no reason why everyone can't do it like Washington state (and other states do it this way - I'm sure). Mail the frickin' ballots out to people!!!! No one has to wait in line! The only cost to the voter is the 30-cents or so for return postage.

No drama.

1. Well, I am personally jealous that other states get to early vote. In CT, we don't have that.

Though cutting the hours and places in Dem areas is pretty disgusting.

simple here. Mail them out and no one has to wait in line.

I do miss gossiping while waiting in line though. Another social occasion shot to hell by a better way.

Every time, I just walked in, maybe a little bit of a line, but voted in a half-hour at the most. One of my buddies mom was always one of the poll workers. This in a town of around 30 thousand in Idaho.

Now we have early voting and I use that just in case I'm scheduled out of town on a blood drive. Our schedules for any month tend to come out around the 20th for the next month. I could still probably make it and vote with little hassle though.

Mail in seems to be the way to go. I did get a FB post from a right-wing WA state friend. Reminding people not to let King County steal the election again and get their ballots in. King Co. is on the west side and includes Seattle. East side of the cascades is way more red. I'm not sure just what he was getting at. I think every time Republicans loose they think they were screwed by left-wing west siders. That post seems to be in support of Rob Mckenna, who appears to be a teabagger freak.

So I have idea why you think that is better than opening more polling places.

6. Vote by mail is used in the Blue States of Oregon and Washington. Democrats win

in both States regularly. We have more liberal laws than most states as well. I certainly did check your profile, you do not mention which State you are in. Uh huh. Just as your post cites zero support for your sneering at vote by mail. Any and all elections systems have potential for fraud and attempts at fraud, vote by mail is among the safest and most secure methods. We catch cheaters.
I would gladly compare any statistics from Oregon with your own State, if you listed one in your profile. Take 2010. We had record breaking trunout, elected nary a new Republican, lots of new Democrats, that sort of thing. Most States whined about low turn outs. I bet yours was one that had low turn out, elected some Tea Soaked types and uses Atari Video Game voting machines for which the rank and file must line up and pay homage, but I'm just guessing because you don't list your State.
After CA and WA, the State with the most vote by mail options is California. Again, Blue.
We Democrats in Oregon and Washington love our vote by mail system. You need to learn that fact. Google can be your friend. Try it on for size before you insult people for liking large turn outs and Democratic victories.
