HUGE Sanders Rally in Fresno CA

Last edited Mon May 30, 2016, 09:46 AM - Edit history (1)

just the overflow crowd would have been a substantial showing, and it utterly dwarfed the turnout a week previous for Bill Clinton.
it was very impressive. and around 95-97 degrees and no shade. wow.
after waiting and slowly moving through the rows of people filing inside, this is what it looked like at the front of the line

turning around I could see the line we had just passed through

which seemed like it was never going to end. People just kept coming and coming

he had just been in Delano yesterday morning, spent some time meeting with Chavez' nephew in the room where Chavez went on a hunger strike in 1970.
He was very moved by the significance of the room and the action.

overflow the left

overflow center

and to the right

it was REAL hard to figure out how many people were out there, until Bernie came around
and spoke to them first. They moved towards one spot.
My safest guess was 1500 until then. I would conservatively say 2500.
Bernie called it 3k and he would know better Im sure.
thats on top of the at least five thousand that Paul Paul seats and the people in some other areas
who were not inside. You can see them on that balcony and beneath. a few hundred not counting cops and SS.
one hell of a lot of people in the heat.
just the overflow crowd would have been an amazing turnout.

this is phenomenal.
I know Trump came nowhere close.
And I dont think we had any riots either?
After about 18 or 20 Trump articles, I dont even want to know how the Bee is going to represent what I saw myself.

they never gave a specific count for Trump, but one or two quick pans or crowd shots tells you how many were in there, if you are familiar with Selland. 4000 would be a high estimate I believe. I wasnt there.
Bill Clinton came by a week ago. They said something like 800 people maybe some overflow, some protesters.
This was MUCH bigger than both of those jokes combined.
and the Bee aint making a thing of it.
cuz they suck. the number one reason Fresno is a crooked mess. It is what they like.

It was well written, factual, and mentioned that the site held 5000 but was overwhelmed. It talked about the overflow area. I think it did a good job of stating Bernie's positions on issues. Bernie also met with the paper for an interview. I was actually impressed with the coverage.

SOP,
but in one week to have a comparison like this to make?
they should be making it, accurately.

if they dont, the facts will be known anyway, but it is a significant (and very quiet) part of the story this particular week.

Fresno goes blue. The Democratic party wont even run candidates, the developers will.
thats how that seems to work around here. the so called Democrats are the worst around.
