(130,767 posts)and, if we can beat them at it, we win. In either case, I suspect Ohio won't be finally decided for some time.

(108,959 posts)The experience of 2004 didn't leave them with much confidence. And one of them moved 6 months ago, completed the address change, and the state still hasn't updated his address in its files -- so he will have to have a provisional ballot.

(51 posts)I expect some degree of fuckery, yet a razor-thin win.
I hate the electorate in this state sometimes. There is 0 reason for Romney to have any kind of lead outside the pockets of sanity in this state.

Whether Husted has screwed things up on purpose, or just through incompetence, I can't tell. But I hope that some other swing state, like Virginia, can be enough to get Obama to 270+ without having to get the full Ohio result.

(13 posts)I have no doubt that there are those who might fall to temptation out of a sense of religious or "patriotic" duty to do whatever it takes. Whatever it takes. "If the cause be just..." There have been those that justify cold blooded premeditated assassination in twisted thinking they are protecting more lives. So I'll feel better about it after a in. I would be ok with loss if confident was honest loss. Wouldn't be happy with dishonest win, either.
All the static about Romney/Bain owned voting machines. Crooked election boards. Vigilante monitors. Dirty ballot tricks. Flooding and lack of power still in at least Cuyahoga county. Over kill in voter purges. Efforts to curtail early voting. All manner of things. They can and do add up.
PBO has a demonstrated, months long polling lead, at least judging by Nate Silver's documented analysis. But polls are not necessarily votes. Shoot, even votes may not even be votes it seems. A poll takers phone call is easier than getting to a polling place where areas are flooded and peoples' lives disrupted.
I'm hopeful. But rather anxious. Remembering 2004.
