Why sports are better than politics

In sports when you lose, you leave the field of play. You don't hang around harassing the refs and the league. You don't demand victory because Vegas bookmakers show that you have a better chance in the next round. You get fined/suspended by the league if you imply that the game is rigged.

Finally, true fans don't abandon the sport just because your team loses.

demand that one's team quits playing before then.

Similarly, the true fans know and expect that playing the game until the end of regulation - even until the end of overtime - is necessary for an actual victory.

However, if you're in the 4th quarter and you're down by 7 TDs, you don't start yelling at the refs and crying that the game is fixed.

...by 14 in the 4th quarter.

That is when one sucks it up and plays down to the level of the opponent as it has become clear that the referees are not in it for a clean game.

That is when one beats the hell out of one's opponent on the line and wins the hard fought game - realizing that one's opponent is not actually that good:

The opponent just got a few cheap calls early in the game and that gave them good field position on which they capitalized.

Beyond that, the opponent's quarterback has no mobility in the pocket, cannot run worth a damn, has no downfield vision, doesn't understand modern defensive sets, has choked in the play-offs once before and wants to play the game out in a very conservative fashion as usual.

We'll see which game is being played.

5. The comparison is some fans of losing teams blame anybody but the players for their losses.

Oh, if BS and HRC were teams BS would be the hapless Raptors and HRC would be the Cavaliers. I would be surprised if this series goes five games.

After the convention, if the "fans" are blaming everyone but the players for a loss, your assessment will be correct.

Time will tell which game is being played.

The only thing that is known so far is that the referees have a favorite (525 to 39) - Sec. Clinton has 1768 pledged delegates and Sen. Sanders has 1494 pledged delegates. When the convention is over, that will be the game.

P.S. If you have not seen Michael Moore's new film, you might like it.

The Raptors and Cavaliers have only played one game in a best of seven series but any student of the game knows it over for the former.

Thanks for the movie recommendation.

Won't it be nice when DU gets past the convention and hopefully winning the election?
