2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumIt is not Operation Chaos. It is West Virginia Democrats that will NOT vote for Clinton.
There are plenty of Democrats that will NOT vote for Clinton in the general election. And trying to ignore the problem isn't going to make it go away.
I have family in WV and OH. MANY Democrats will NOT vote for another Clinton. And they aren't fooled by the phony studies that say NAFTA did not cause the loss of American Jobs.

(47,803 posts)If the Democrats were smart they'd get behind the PROGRESSIVE populist agenda that Sanders represents -- not warmed over Corporate Elite Crap.

(39,961 posts)when the first oleo was made, manufacturers were forbidden by law to make it yellow because the dairy industry lobbied against it. I was a couple of decades before they were allowed to color margarine yellow!
So it was a bit of oleogarchy protecting the dairy industry bigwigs

(5,417 posts)The republicans race is over so if a republican was smart they would all vote for sanders.
Extend the primary, cause more divide in the party, and force both sides to spend more money on primary ads.

(2,227 posts)so that says a lot. They are coming right out and saying she lost because all the repubs voted for Bernie. How stupid is that?

(45,048 posts)for the lesser of two evils. To me it shows how much she is disliked that conservative democrats would vote for a Socialist over her. I saw nothing that shows they are staunch Bernie supporters. They grab onto whatever they can though.

(12,958 posts)That is just the latest emailed David Brock talking point. They expose themselves when 20 of them all start saying it simultaneously.

(52,155 posts)and for largely the same reasons, she is against coal and she embraced Obama. And both of those are the proper stances to take and I am glad she took them. We won't win, and we don't need to win WV. BTW they wouldn't vote for Bernie either since he is also against coal. Once that came out widely it would be as over for him there as it is for her.

(28,462 posts)it wouldn't change the fact that "anybody but Clinton" is what will motivate a lot of independent and conservative voters in the general, even if it only motivates them to sit this one out.

(1,446 posts)If that means giving WV to the repubs, so be it. The gains elsewhere will far make up for that small number of electoral college votes. Hillary's comments did include that coal miners need to be retrained and an investment needs to be put into getting them employed in other industries, again...something that we all should agree with.
