Wouldn't Guccifer's claim that he hacked into Clinton's server be an "utterance against self interest" (or however prosecuters/lawyers put in) and carry more weight than almost anything else a criminal would claim?

I see plenty of Hillary's supporters saying "but he's a criminal, we can't take him at his word". On most things, yes they'ld have a point. But a guy in jail for hacking, confesses and says "I hacked even more than you thought". I kinda take him seriously. A sane person isn't going to open themselves to more years in jail just to brag.

Then again, I don't know that Guccifer's activities matter at all in this.

The way security rules and laws seem to be written, no damage to US interest is necessary for a person to be in violation.

I've seen things in this that trouble me. I have limited need to deal with this other than to consider how it effects my voting, and it's done that.
