Do some of you hope Trump wins so you can say "I told you so?"This discussion thread was locked as off-topic by In_The_Wind (a host of the 2016 Postmortem forum). This is assuming Bernie loses the nomination, of course. And he may not, but he probably will.

People vote for their own personal reasons, as is their right.
The ONLY thing I care about if Sanders does not win is Democrats vote down ticket especially Sanders' Dems. Other than that, to each his or her own. Vote your conscious! |

"I can't wait to tell you I told you so!"
How would you interpret that? As someone who dreads the possibility they've imagined? Or does it express eager hope and anticipation and a desire to say those words? If someone is hoping for the worst possible outcome for no reason other than "revenge" or the personal satisfaction of having a "told-ya-so" ... I seriously question that person's priorities (and sanity). |

To declare that Hillary will lose is to declare a complete lack of confidence in "people power" (i.e., lack of confidence in our power to make sure that doesn't happen).
Such declarations of powerlessness strike me as being completely at odds with Sanders' message. |

21. Absolutely f'ing NOT
But here's the issue that scares the living hell out of me. Trump is changing the decision making vectors in politics. I haven't nailed it down in my own mind but he's forcing people to make different decisions. There is NO question HRC is far far far (did I say far) more qualified to do the job than anyone in the race. And for those who make their decisions on qualifications, she's a no brainer. But let's not forget the popularity of Dancing with the Stars, Survivor, The Biggest Loser, or The Bachelor...those folks aren't thinking about qualifications. I don't know what the f*ck they're deciding on but this campaign is going to be work, that's for sure. If Trump successfully turns this into a race between insiders and outsiders...this could get ugly. Think Blackberry. It was a chitty phone but it killed market leader Motorola just by changing the decision vectors. |

Trump will work against or to undo any climate mitigation. HRC will drag her feet until the damage is irreversible. Only Sanders will try and act immediately.
All other issues are pretty insignificant next to climate change, and HRC will not cross her Wall Street friends. |

about minorities when the Clintons both have a history of racist bullshit surrounding them from the 2008 campaign to superpredators being brought to heel to mass incarceration & expansion of the war on drugs to arrogant dismissal of BLM activists, and the list goes on.
You want a candidate for minorities, then you should have gone with Sanders. Now your choices (if you believe there are only two) are Trump and Clinton. |

88. Spare me ... I've been on this site for a long time.
There has ALWAYS been a small and angry contingent here who thinks the country will never embrace their version of utopia until the economy totally crashes and capitalism is no more. Anytime the DOW drops over 200 points they see their fantasy future racing towards us.
Meanwhile ... you call this "Bernie's revolution" ... which is nonsense. Back in 2014, the "revolution" as you call it wanted Warren, not Bernie. Warren said "No", so Bernie said "Ok, I'll do it." Back in 2011, the "revolution" wanted a primary challenge of Obama. Of course the "revolution" lacked an actual candidate. The reason the "revolution" fails is because it does not have the determination to build up an ARRAY of "acceptably liberal" candidates at all levels. Instead, the "revolution" waits for a Warren, or a Sanders to step up and slay the dragon. Its not a winning strategy. |

108. That's a bunch of ranting, not a statement of "strategy".
The DNC exists to help Democrats get elected. You might argue as to whether they are good at that job, but that is irrelevant.
Bernie decided to become a Democrat and by doing so, has to follow the same rules as any other Democrat. As for the GOP "making hay" ... I'm sorry, but did you sleep through the Obama Presidency? The GOP will crucify ANY candidate we put forward. Its what they do. The funny thing is, they've been trying to crucify Hillary for more than 2 decades, and she's still standing, and still kicking ass. The email thing is nonsense, and everyone knows it. Sure, the RW will masturbate itself into a frenzy over it. And some Bernie fans hang all their hopes on it ... but no one else cares. Consider that official government email servers have been HACKED. Hillary's server, was not hacked. Its a scandal in which nothing actually happened. As for "fault" with Bernie supporters. Who gives a shit? We need another Dem in the White House, period. So sure, you can stay home and pout, or only vote down ticket, or vote green or some other nonsense party. As I explained earlier ... you guys aren't in for the long haul anyway. The "revolution" is fickle. |

If HRC is the democratic nominee and loses to Trump that's on Hillary and no one else.
She chose her affiliations with wall street, she chose to keep secret her wall street speeches, she chose to flip flop on nearly every liberal social justice issue, she chose to eagerly accept the support of big pharma, private prisons, and corporate thieves, and she certainly should have known using a private server in her own home for secure government business would come under question. 100. Too many assumptions there. Short answer: no.
I'll say this: I'd like to have a better sense of what a President Trump would do wrt foreign policy.
Clinton is a clear and present danger to world peace. Lots of (non-white) people are going to die, unnecessarily, under a Clinton presidency. ( I include "non-white" because there's a chance it it will catch the attention of some portion of a huge portion her slavish, star-struck political fan-base.) This we know by what she's said, and by what she's done. Over many years. Trump is a tabula rasa...Christ, Clintonites, look it up if you don't know what it means.... in spite of his vague/wild/ pronouncements re. ISIS, etc. It *appears* that he ( Trump) knows next to nothing. However.... ignorance ... in this VERY particular case....may indeed be bliss. All, i know for *sure* is that I don't want Clinton conducting US foreign policy over the next four years. |
