The WH Correspondents' Dinner - The Latest Act brought to you by the Corp Propaganda Machine to keep

you voting for their corporate puppets.

On CSPAN today there was a very negative show on the WHCD including callers going on and on about how this is a prime example of how bad our government has gotten, the lobbyist, the opulence, etc. You can tell when CSPAN shifts from taking calls from random callers to pushing an agenda.

On CNN they were repeatedly showing pictures of prior dinners portraying the big money interests in their most unfavorable light. If you wanted a poster to portray the big money excess those would be the photos I would use.

In addition, Politico did an interview of Larry Wilmore and there were some interesting comments made. http://www.democraticunderground.com/12511866143

I don't think we need to wonder any longer why CBS invited Bernie to attend.

And the manipulation of the masses continues. It's a dog and pony show, it's a dog and pony show..

Obama or Wilmore taking shots at a decent man is something I don't even want to know about.

corrupt crowd. Though, I wouldn't be surprised if they tried to play it both ways depending on which audience they are targeting for votes. They can get a lot of use out of Bernie.

Since they want to unite the party Obama might just try to push their latest narrative...

7. CSpan is brought to you by your cable company. It is no longer neutral. Tightly controlled now.

They used to bring a whole lot of inside political stuff. It was actually fun to watch and you learned about campaigns after general elections. CSpan would go inside post-election dinners and you'd hear consultants who had been competitors eating and drinking together discussing the tricks of their trades. It was fun and very informative. That's years ago.

And the old book fairs featured a greater variety of books and authors. Miami and LA the best. Now stictly educational and way more rightwing stuff.

8. Just goes to show... there's NOTHING that hardcore Bernie fans can't get outraged over.

What's next? The White House Easter Egg Roll? The pardoning of the Thanksgiving Turkey?

I don't think we need to wonder any longer why CBS invited Bernie to attend.

Tell us! What's the conspiracy about that! (This outta be good!)

I'm not sure where the "manipulation" is, but whatevs. Everyone's a critic, I suppose. Obama has always shone brightly at these things. GWB had a couple of amusing moments, but he was really outside of his element and it helped to highlight what a goof and dolt he was.

9. You're missing the point. He'll be the victim of their humor. They can't help it.

I think it will be fine. He knows his policies are easy to mock. He is easiest target. I think this shows how correspondents are in the pockets of the politicians they cover and, of course, big money. It is such a wonderful opportunity to see how the integrity of our Fourth Estate has declined over the years. Especially visual media.

10. Oh no! He's being "victimized" yet again ... this time by COMEDY WRITERS!! :-P

Throw ALL the late-night comedians and chat-show hosts under the bus, eh?

Actually, to the best of my recollection, it's not a "ROAST of Bernie Sanders", is it? Maybe I'm mistaken, and I'm sure you'll correct me if that's the case. But it seems like the skits (speech/talk) centers on the President making fun of himself, the administration, and maybe a bit of needling of the press corps.

I honestly think that this is why you guys keep losing. You get bogged down and outraged over the smallest things, you end up being your own worst distractions, and "ordinary" people (however you want to describe folks who vote but don't hang out on political discussion boards) see such behavior as tilting toward the kooky side, and ultimately they being to dismiss what you have to say instinctively. Then, over time, even VALID concerns are also ignored.

Jesus Christ... you guys need to choose your battles more carefully and quit jumping on every little thing just because it offends your perfect-world sensibilities. I'm not saying that it's a perfect world, nor am I saying that the things you're concerned about have absolutely no value or merit at all. But it's EVERY-FUCKING-THING-NON-STOP-DAY-IN-DAY-OUT and you're picking battles you can't win, and wasting time by not pursuing the ones you can win. But, by that time, nobody cares because they sick of hearing all the constant non-stop griping that has (thus far) accomplished very little.
