2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumdeluded folks at 'RedState' think they have MI and PA, and tied in MN
below is a quote from one paragraph.
"Well the campaign has announced they are putting ads into Minnesota because they believe it's tied.
So perhaps they aren't moving into MI and Pa because they don't need to. Maybe they are ahead there without it, and the campaign is attack other "safe" Obama states. "

(4,096 posts)Because if Obama is at +4/+5 ahead in Ohio, he isn't losing those states.

(1,134 posts)The lamestream media has been making up the OH polls and that Romney is going to landslide. The delusion is so strong and so thick that I am getting a little worried (me? I know!). There's going to be some violence when Obama wins. This level of delusion won't end well. The GOP has poisoned their own well.
Oh man Election Day is going to be awesome.
And how about that RAND poll. It's turning out to be pretty frickin' reliable, catching Obama's momentum before the polls.

(2,391 posts)But that was a big loss. If this race is closer, it could take longer to know for certain. Add to that Willard's refusal to admit he's not doing well and it could take much longer before he'll face facts.
I'd use McCain's time as the benchmark and go from there. I doubt it will be earlier, even if it's a big loss, again. Sheer stubborness will keep Willard from conceding for quite a while.

it's actually quite scary that there obsession totally disregards all factual data. Like an old flame that's won't accept it's over and still shows up at your works Christmas Party!

(34,857 posts)They were convinced because McCain was focusing so much attention on Pennsylvania that he must've put Ohio and Florida in the bag and that he was so going to win there and swamp Obama. I remember reading their delusion and it was awesome in retrospect.
They also felt, because of on the ground sources, that the PUMAs would vote McCain and that the reason the polls showed Obama up is that they were all lying to the pollsters.
Funny shit!

(53,031 posts)I watched for about 3 minutes, a record for me. Rove was saying that given Romney's lead in the national polls (he claims it's 4-6 points), there is no way Obama can be winning Ohio. Then when Joe Trippi mentioned that Obama leads in early voting, Rove insisted it wasn't so, that Reps. led in absentee ballot requests, as though the two are the same. So he's obviously trying to talk up some of the national polls to make the Fox viewership feel better.
As an aside, WTF is going on with Joe Trippi? Why is he on Fox, and is he finished in Democratic Party politics?

(53,031 posts)and responded by citing requests for absentee ballots, which is not the same as early voting. Everyone knows Republicans love to vote absentee.
