Seven Indiana Mayors Endorse HRC

Seven Indiana Mayors Endorse HRC

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) Seven Indiana Mayors have announced their support for Hillary Clinton, including Fort Wayne Mayor Tom Henry.

Hillary Clinton’s campaign sent out a release Thursday identifying mayors from across the state supporting the Democratic presidential candidate.

“Thousands of Hoosier jobs were at risk in 2008 and 2009, and Hillary Clinton had the courage to stand with our workers and vote to protect jobs here in Indiana. She’s consistently been on the frontline to protect jobs right here in our community and will strengthen manufacturing and ensure Indiana and cities like Fort Wayne can compete in a 21st century economy. Hillary is a commonsense choice to serve as our next president,” Henry said.

Other mayors backing Clinton include:
•South Bend Mayor Peter Buttigieg
•Gary Mayor Karen Freeman-Wilson
•Indianapolis Mayor Joe Hogsett
•Hammond Mayor Thomas McDermott, Jr.
•Lafayette Mayor Tony Roswarski
•Kokomo Mayor Greg Goodnight

Clinton did win Indiana 38-34 in 2008. The reason why I expect(ed) Indiana to go Sanders is because we have an open primary. But, Hillary has won more open primaries than Sanders.

Recent poll from 538 shows average of 48.8 - 41 favoring Clinton.

Indiana's polling hours are 6am to 6pm. That might be a factor too.
