God condemns this Frankenstorm but

the result will be a "Gift from God":

A supremely presidential-looking and heroic Obama response to a massive state of emergency just days before the General Election.

That's the logic, right?

Btw, Get ready for the righties to lambast the response and accuse our POTUS of saving lives just to score political points.

That true patriots will vote no matter what and it wont stop republicans from voting. They did mention that early voting was promoted by Dems because "it is easier to commit fraud that way." They didnt provide any sources for that..............but they know its true

We when speak our minds, its treason.

When they speak their minds, it's patriotic. Oh, they also have to dress like Paul Revere to reaaaally accentuate their points.

shortest easiest way to explain it...

In the olden times people used to think that there were different gods that oversaw different lands. So if you went to country X and their god was X, then you better pay homage to that god. The jewish people thought this as well.

So then the jewish people are captured by Babylonian army and exiled to that land. When they get back they make a covenant that says there is only ONE TRUE god and that true god is the god of Israel (the one they had been worshiping while in Israel). He is the almighty one and there arent any others. People who worship other gods are just worshiping false idols. They felt the reason for their problems (captivity in Babylon) is because they didnt recognize God as the only god.

This is why they ended up having so many problems when the Romans got there later on. The romans wanted the Jewish people to recognize Roman religious festivals and hold the emperor as a demi-diety. Other people in the Mediterranean were pretty much ok with that (they believed in multiple gods) but the Jewish people wouldnt do it because of the covenant they made about there only being one. So Romans couldnt use their religion to placate the Jews and it eventually caused the romans to get pissed, destroy their temple, and send them all around the empire.

That is one reason why there were lots of Jews in Europe during WWII.

So another name for the Judeo-Christian god is the God of Israel. Today its used like a sort of poetic thing. Incorporated into Hymns and what not.

Yeah I simplified that a lot but thats the general idea.

Did I explain that ok?

God gives us the playbook and says "here is how you are supposed to act." It's up to you to lead your life in the way in which God intended. I guess thats a very Jewish way of looking at the Lord. I dont think God is out there constantly rearranging the Tupperware. If everything was an act of God then it would negate freewill which means that we cant truly sin. That would in turn negate the purpose of Christ being born and then serving as a sacrifice for our sins.

Like like you said, large subject.

I do not and never will know enough to speak for God -- I don't like people speaking for me -- so I don't even try.

thinking is that man is paying too much attention to the creation and not the creator. So focusing on "mother earth" as you say would be turning away from God. They state that God is there to provide comfort and that He would not allow his greatest creation (man) to die out. Therefore, global climate change is either controlled by God and we will be ok....or it is a deliberate lie of the godless to get us to reject faith in the Lord.

This philosophy became mainstream in the last 30+ years when there was an awkward marriage between the religious right and the corporate elite of the Republican party who are concerned only with making money. The two views did not coexist peacefully at first (remember, Jimmy Carter was a born-again type). The theology was tweaked just enough to match the business and economic needs of the 1%.

Ergo, we get religious justification for lower taxes, freer markets, and fewer regulations. Thus it makes sense to them to reject global warming

the view of "christianity for the rich" has been around for some time in the US. We are the nation of calvinism and the protestant work ethic. This is the current version of that stream of thought. As I noted earlier, it became nationaly prominent when the Republicans courted their favor in the late 1970s.
