Best case scenario for progressives

The two party system blows up. Trump gets screwed out of the GOP nomination, and runs 3rd party. Bernie runs as a credible 3rd (4th?) party candidate. And everyone has a choice in November.

The two party system is killing the Country. It needs to be shaken up in the worst kind of way. People need to have the choice of candidates who represent their ideas run in the general.

As shown this cycle, independents are the ones who really lose because they have no choice in the ingredients of the shit sandwich they have to eat.

Some may call me a dreamer, but this season has been strange enough where it could happen.

... sit on its ass complaining about Obama while waiting for a savior to come in 2016.

Then spend the primaries complaining about Clinton.

Remember that Bernie wasn't the movements first choice. The movement wanted Waren and she said no.

The movement needed to build up a bunch of candidates. And they did not.

And I doubt they have the energy to do so down the road.

But I've kept my identification as a Democrat through a lot of times when I wondered why.

But this one might be the last straw. It's become Wal Mart.

... to advance and develop a slate of more progressive candidates for 2016?

You can leave the party, but at the end of the day you still have to do the hard work of developing candidates.

Waiting for Warren, or Bernie, is not sufficient.

The party has taken a giant step to the right. I'm still posting here, because this place use to stand for something. Pay attention to the 'underground' part of the name.

Our political system, from its founding, isn't friendly to a multiple party scenario. You can look up the reasons why. We are more or less stuck with two parties in acendency.

If you hate the Democratic Party, what you would have to do is supplant it--a process that would take quite a while. Peace and best of luck to you.

Democratic values are not currently being represented by the leading candidate.

It would have been nice if Bernie could have run as an Independent to begin with but the two party political system we have is built to keep it a two party system.

They have multiple parties, thus the government minority rules...lately, the conservatives have ruled...with less than half the country in support. They have eliminated the safety net, favored the banks and done nothing for ordinary people... You are a dreamer and I would add the grass is always greener but sometimes that is not reality.
