Ann Romney: "Throw out" the American public education system

Ann Romney: "Throw out" the American public education system

by noweasels

Ann Romney wants to "throw out" the public education system.

Ann Romney and First Lady Michelle Obama were interviewed for the November issue of Good Housekeeping magazine, just out. Our First Lady, of course was charming, positive and well-informed.

Mrs. Romney? Well . . .

Among her talking points, this:

I've been a First Lady of the State. I have seen what happens to people's lives if they don't get a proper education. And we know the answers to that. The charter schools have provided the answers. The teachers' unions are preventing those things from happening, from bringing real change to our educational system. We need to throw out the system.

Good Housekeeping

Mrs. Romney, of course, is not an educator and has no experience as a teacher. Other than as a candidate's wife (if then), she's probably never even set a well-shod dainty foot inside a public school. She went to private school; so did her husband and children. And the "answers" the charter schools are providing? As mysterious as her tax returns. I guess we'll just have to take her word for it.

And as is said at the end of every useless infomercial – but wait! There’s more.

Why do you think your husband is the best person to be President?

I'd say because of his life experience, starting with the example [his father] George Romney set of being successful in his family and business and then serving in a political sphere. . . . The formula from his perspective was, you never get involved in politics unless you're financially secure and your children are raised. So when our children were older and Mitt had made a bit of money, there was his father's example that you find ways to serve and give back.

(Note: Poor people! Women with children! Young people! Stay out of politics!)

These middle aged wanna be but not gonna be productive members of society have been given every advantage. What do they do? Not a goddamn thing. This woman hasn't worked a goddamn day of her life yet she thinks she can diagnose the American education system. Let's remember that it was her class that prevented integration. Let's remember that it was this woman's class that encouraged discrimination.

Good luck with the tiara reasoning Ann.

When questioned about all the controversial issues involving her husband on the talk show circuit, she responded, "you need to have my husband on your show and ask him that question". Of course the reason her husband hasn't shown up on these shows is because he has no intention of answering any of these controversial questions, thats why he sent her.

Ann Romney uses the MSM to 'humanize' her robotic husband and throws in policy statements when it suits their campaign while bobbing and weaving at other times.

... they can accomplish truly incredible things, molding them in their own image of baby machines.

Here's a link to my earlier post on about the remarkable level of manipulation of girls political views coming from "mainstream" Catholic education (yup, it is in fact quite a mainstream option in Ohio where public schools are being assailed by budget cuts). Sending your kids to public is like an admission that you are poor, or don't really care about their education. And Catholic / parochial private schools vastly outnumber a-religious / charter type schools here.

http://www.democraticunderground.com/1251184483#post17

Will the girls that they have been churning out of these institutions for the past four years deliver Ohio to the Romneys? I'd like to see a poll question: were you educated in public / a-religious school or Catholic / parochial school.
