(9,253 posts)let's also hope she'll get to make her charges against the other side and they won't have the opportunity to respond. Otherwise, she's going to have real trouble.

(12,504 posts)just like Trump used to get Center stage with the earlier GOP debates.
I find it fascinating that so many expect Bernie to be proffered so many privileges when he is not the front runner. He should call the debates, he should win, the Super Delegates should switch, etc etc.

(14,255 posts)Being passed around the internet. So we can all see how she really feels.
And this stuff should put an end to the "unity" bullshit. I would hope. I just full ignore the unity stuff now, though.

respond.

(42,694 posts)Fact: In each of the last three Democratic town hall/forum events, Clinton went before Sanders. That would be the two day event from Columbus on March 13 and March 14 (Clinton's interview was on the 13th, Sanders on the 14th), the March 21 event from DC (Clinton was interviewed first and then Sanders, remotely, went second). And March 30 from Wisconsin and NYC, where Maddow interviewed Clinton first and then Sanders.
Fact: While I don't know how the order of appearance was decided in each instance, during the MSNBC/Telemundo forum from Las Vegas in February it was reported -- without any disagreement from the Sanders campaign - that Bernie had won a coin flip and that was why he was going first.
I suggest you save your tinfoil to wrap up leftovers.

(12,685 posts)Just two days ahead of "Mega Tuesday," former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders both touted their experience and commitment to a more just and equal America in tonight's Democratic town hall hosted by CNN and TV One in Columbus, Ohio.
With less than 48 hours before voters in Ohio, Florida, Illinois, Missouri, and North Carolina head to the polls and decide the allegiance of more than 1,000 delegates both Democrats ramped up their rhetoric, setting their sights squarely on Republican front-runner Donald Trump.
Sanders took the stage first, beginning by answering a question about the increasingly severe violence at rallies hosted by his Republican rival. When Tapper noted that Trump has blamed the escalating confrontations at his rallies on supporters of Sanders and Clinton, the Senator from Vermont did not mince words.

The March 30th Rachael Maddow Show - Clinton's interview was pre-taped (can you say editing). Bernie was live and it was an INTERVIEW not a town hall.
Today, the senator held a big town hall event at the Orpheum Theater in
Madison, Wisconsin. And the senator joins us from backstage at that
theater now.
Meanwhile when that was all happening, me and my crew were inside the
Apollo backstage in the offices there prepping last-minute questions and
research for Secretary Clinton, fact checking everything we were going to
ask her and put to her.
As soon as the event ended and they cleared out that auditorium that had
been so full to see her, we rushed in as fast as possible to set up the
lighting and the cameras and the microphones and the chairs and the tables
and the water glasses and everything on that stage.
I got seated on the stage then she got seated right after me then it`s like
rush, right, everybody got your phones turned off? OK. Good. We got to
go. Secretary Clinton and I kibitzed for just a teeny tiny second until
everything is adjusted in terms of the lights and the sound and everything
then we go, go, go. No messing around. She`s only got so much time.
She`s a presidential candidate.
We do the interview. It`s fairly intense. You`re going to see it in just
a moment. She ends up making news on the Supreme Court and on Bernie
Sanders and on what European leaders have been privately telling her during
the campaign and, and, and, and, and. Fascinating interview. Super
intense. Then wrap, it`s over. She`s got to go.

I commented on the Town halls yet you FAILED to provide one example where Clinton went first.

(50,261 posts)It was apparent how much he was getting on her nerves. I don't think I've ever seen a candidate so angry as Hillary was. She was trying to keep it contained, but it almost seemed she wanted to lunge at Rachel and wring her neck.

(3,687 posts)Prior to the Primaries starting I became Deputy registrar and registered somewhere north of 100 new voters prior to the Illinois Primary. I spent a number of days at a local Community college. My offer to register new voters was met many (many) time from kids with basically 'What's the point, my vote won't make any difference". Way back then (a few months ago) I had optimistic responses for them and believed what I was saying . At this point.... not so much. I had planned on doing more registration prior to the GE. I won't be wasting my time over the summer.

(11,986 posts)Maybe he has felt that he'd rather people tuning in to see Hillary end up seeing at least some of Bernie when they turn it on a little early, rather than have Hillary people just turn it off when she's done and not see him at all. Or similarly maybe he thinks that people will more likely stick around to watch the whole thing when Hillary is coming up next, whereas by part way through the 2nd hour, there's some fall-off "politics fatigue..."
