What will *really happen here at DU the moment a nominee is announced:(edited)

This discussion thread was locked as off-topic by Bobbie Jo (a host of the 2016 Postmortem forum).

1. There will be much gnashing of teeth for the losing side, with members of their own team calling for calm and unity.
2. There will be much gloating on the winning side, with members of their team calling for humility and grace.
3. There will be a call from any or all of the following for the same, and yadda yadda, rally behind our nominee: Skinner, The DLC/Third Way, and The Corporate State media outlets working in overdrive, the party leaders on at least one side of Great Political Divide that exists within our party, and of course, the Triangulator-In-Chief, Bubba Clinton himself. I fully suspect, by the way, many will be socked and stunned by the sheer lack of support for her.
4. There will be a second wave of vile and vitriolic posts, juries, hidden posts, and shit-slinging which will, as in all times prior, will re-write the rules of DU yet again to suit the soup of the day.
5. There will be a third wave of incredulity, as the realization sets in that we meant what we said. The FDR/Labor wing has one last gasp in it, and will make their stand known. They have already adopted a catch phrase "Bern It Down". They did, not me. I saw it elsewhere. I repeated it here. If you haven't seen it, just follow me here for a minute. I have stated in other posts that what I do is predict.
6. When the election goes to the other side, there will be wailing.

On edit: Whoops! Forgot the close: Please, please vote for Bernie to avoid this scenario I described! Please vote against The Corporate State and vote FOR the Constitution!

Second edit: Ignore is my friend. Once you make it to the ignore list, I will never see you again. Whoops, there went the party unity! D'oh.

It's really pretty simple.

Millions more Democrats voted for Hillary.
She's buried Bernie on delegates.

She wins.
It's all about the win.
And that's all about the math.

Democrats rejected Bernie.

You don't realize how laughable that is.

There is no reasonable analysis that gives her a chance.

She has to battle against now entrenched voter suppression antics in most of the swing states. This can only be overcome with OVERWHELMING turnout... something Clinton cannot drive.

Worse, she is running as the 3rd term of a president who bled 10MM votes from 2008 to 2012 and is coming off record losses in off year elections.

She's got absolutely nothing leaning in her favor. She is one of the most reviled candidates with no opportunity to change that perception (unlike Trump who can completely remake himself by November.) She has 0 appeal to young voters or to independents and represents the essence of the establishment that so many people are fed up with.

Since 1988, I have never gotten a presidential prediction wrong (with one exception.. I got 2000 RIGHT, but the Supreme Court overturned the result).

This is the easiest one to predict ever in that Clinton has no actual chance, because she has no real coalition and no real drive to her campaign.

I guess it was just too much work for both of you to join the party and work from within to make the party more to your liking.

You have two choices.. either overwhelm it with force (as is what is being attempted now).

Or sit back and watch it die on the vine so it can be remade properly.

That's plan B.

The current democratic party is to me what the current republican party is to people who believed in Republican ideals in the 1950s. They don't recognize the current candidates or the hate they spew.

I don't recognize most of these "democrats" who support corporations and adopt right wing health care plans.

Several times. I have not seen it elsewhere, it came to my own mind and represents how I feel.

My time as a registered Democrat is absolutely at an end. My time at DU (12 years) is almost certainly at an end too. At least certainly on the "big" boards. I respect the board too much to stir shit, so a TS will likely not be necessary. I'll just go.

I have come to terms with this.

I plan to get more involved in local politics, and when there is a national candidate who represents my views, I will involve myself in those races too. Otherwise, no, I have no loyalty left towards the Democratic Party. My votes are available to be earned, they will not be given.

unless the owner is so heart broken he shuts the site down and that would be his prerogative. I don't think that will happen though just sayin.

I won't gloat if Bernie is the nominee. I don't care if the other side does, I won't be here to see it. I will be busy with plan B.

If I do come here the name Hillary won't be typed out on my keyboard I will hang out with Pastafarians, maybe the cooking group, other groups whatever. I will talk about anything but politics probably.

If worst case scenario Hillary wins the nomination and loses the GE I still won't gloat, I won't say I told you so, because I will probably be working very hard to CMA for the shit storm that is about to come. Okay not really. There isn't a lot Hillary can do that is going to negatively impact my life it will just be a loss of the dream of a more sane country.
