Did ‘Hillary for America’ steal Bernie’s voter database?

I was wondering about this, especially since Hillary's campaign also had access to Sanders' campaign database since last year with that "firewall" that kept dropping between the two campaigns.

If the Hillary campaign knew exactly who Sanders' supporters are, then it could've also organized the "purging" of those voters from registrations, or flip their vote on the machines, and so on.

=================

I want to see how many of those voters that were purged, were actually on the Bernie list.

I know that campaigns do send in spies and saboteurs to their opponents camps, and there have been rumors of other moles in Bernie's campaign in New England and South Carolina. Of course, it is impossible to know with any certainty, and it could be paranoia, jealousy, or disinformation generating such rumors.

I've donated, campaigned, volunteered, etc. for her and have never received anything via mail. Many times canvassers don't follow the law about co-mingling with mail.

I'd be interested to see what she is mailing out.

support a particular candidate. Most of them are perfectly legal. You can buy lists from scores of organizations, including every website that does things like petition drives and online polling. Why do you think they ask for your name and email address?

But, proving that a candidate had a hand in altering voter registrations is another matter, altogether.

Where I have lived, county registrars conduct "purges" of registrations every couple of years. For example, in California, if you have not voted in recent General Elections, your registration can be removed. If you have moved, your registration at your old address can be removed. If you have re-registered at a new address, your old registration can be removed.

That's part of the job of those county officials - keeping the voter registration lists current. Sometimes, sadly, that process gets screwed up. For example, in some places, county officials send out mail to all registered voters at their registered address. Any of those mails that get returned lead to removal of that person from the list of registered voters.

Still, the most common reason for your name dropping off the registration rolls is failure to exercise your right to vote in your precinct. Different states have different rules about that. So, skipping general elections is a good way to get your name removed. Voting is important. Go and vote in the precinct where you live. If you move, make it a priority to re-register at your new address. Lots of people never bother to think about such things.

And always, always check your voter registration before the deadline to re-register. Always. If you don't, you could get to your polling place and not be able to vote. That would be too bad. Voting is important.

Go to the polls and vote, please.

Bernie noticed the first break. Then Hillary blamed him. Doesn't that sound familiar? Accuse the opponent of what you are doing.

Bernie’s own breach bombshell ignored by media: Clinton’s campaign could have potentially spied on his voter data, too

AND from Former Clinton employee owns company at center of campaign data scandal https://theoutsidernews.com/articles/2015/12/18/former-clinton-employee-owns-company-center-campaign-data-scandal

NGP VAN founder Nathaniel Pearlman has had a very close relationship with the Clintons, and served as chief technology officer for Hillary Clinton's 2008 presidential campaign.

According to Pearlman's book “Margin of Victory”, when Pearlman handed over the day to day operation of then NGP to current CEO Stuart Trevelyan in 2007 it was due to Trevelyan's “political background and commitment that went back to Bill Clinton's 1992 campaign war room … and a sense of cool competitiveness that blended perfectly with the NGP vibe.”

While working for Clinton, Pearlman managed controversial Clinton’s email server administrator Bryan Pagliano. In hearings about Clinton's use of a private email server during her tenure as Secretary of State Pagliano has refused to testify before the House Benghazi Committee, asserting his Fifth Amendment rights against self incrimination.

Pearlman has stayed close to Clinton since her last presidential bid. Graphicacy, Pearlman's graphic design firm serves Clinton campaign chairman John Podesta's think tank The Center for American Progress.

The potential conflicts of interest in providing rival campaigns with analytical tools and data analysis is mind boggling and the data breach at the center of the controversy appears to represent a fundamental design flaw in the NGP VAN voter database system.

Rather than host competing campaigns' data on separate servers running a copy of the systems voter information database, campaigns are hosted together and separated only by a software firewall on the same physical machine. Such an arrangement leaves the door open to data breaches that would be impossible with a system using separate secure servers.

The Sanders campaign has reacted by saying it had privately complained to the DNC in the past about NGP VAN about fire wall problems.

At a press conference discussing the data controversy, Sanders campaign manager Jeff Weaver stated that NGP VAN had contacted the Sanders campaign over two months ago to report that the firewall between the campaigns was down, leading the Sanders campaign to inform to the DNC.

“We are actually very confident at that time some of our data was lost to another campaign,” said Weaver.

******

AND just and interesting extra, not even too geeky for me to understand - the writer was a software developer for NGP VAN from the summer of 2011 through the spring of 2015, and contributed to a system through which the scores at the center of this dispute can be loaded into the voter file.

Until late summer of last year, most Bernie supporters were never registered to vote. They sat at home and complained but did nothing. One the purging thing, any purging was done by Republicans. Bernie had better be glad that the purge happened in NY where it did because that area went about 65% to HRC. She would have picked up at least one more delegate.

Bernie-ites like to throw out his wins in caucus states - places that less than 10% of the registered Democrat even bothered to go caucus. But he has shown that he can't win a state where Democrats select the Democrat candidate. Yes, it matter to Democrats.

while and I truly do believe Hillary's campaign was taking Bernie's data. I received several emails from Hillary right after this happened. I put it on here. I had never received anything from her. Not donated to the DNC, nothing. Just straight donations to Bernie himself. The data was stolen along with my email address. That is what I think and that is what happened to many Bernie supporters. The timing was exact.
