Informal lawn sign "poll."

My wife took a nice leisurely drive around some Connecticut back roads today, eventually working our way the coast for a nice fresh seafood lunch in the upscale Mystic/Noank/Groton area. I mean, when you hear about rich people in Connecticut, these waterfront homes pretty much nail it. Anyway, we couldn't help but notice the political lawn signs. Not a whole lot yet, but they were out there. Most surprising was not only the number of Trump lawn signs, but where they were placed — in the front yard of some of the people he probably invests with. Some pretty impressive homes sporting Trump signs. But they were definitely outnumbered by Bernie lawn signs. That made me feel better. We even saw one Kasich lawn sign. Just one.

We drove slightly over 100 miles, weaving in and out of Connecticut countryside, and that's what we saw. No, I'm not leaving anyone out. We did not pass one single home or business with a Hillary lawn sign. Not a single one. I know it's nothing scientific, but it sure was noticeable. And they tell us Connecticut is supposedly a lock for Clinton.

I can't wait to vote on Tuesday!

Here's something for you to ponder.

When people talk about US Senators, they often describe them as either "Show horses" or "Work horses".

If you look back at Hillary's time in the Senate, she was never the one out in front of the cameras. She was working for the people of NY.

Its not about the "show", its about the "work".

The "movement" that you are part of ... is more show, than work. Its folks who think Obama hasn't done enough, and spent the last 7+ years complaining about him, while doing NOTHING to build a slate of candidates they found acceptably liberal for 2016.

Bernie wasn't even the "movement's" first choice. The "movement" wanted Warren. She appeared on the scene, and the "movement" got very excited. DU was packed with folks who were SURE she'd carry the banner.

She said no.

So Bernie, said, "ok, I'll do it".

Yard signs and bumper stickers are easy. Going to a rally is fun.

Politics, and winning elections requires hard work.

That's why you don't see us. We're busy working for what we want.

Hillary doesn't even get half of the individual campaign contributions as Bernie.

She has trouble getting 500 people to her NYC rallies, whereas Bernie attracts 28,000 multiple times.

She has to pay people to astroturf social media with fake, paid-for posts because she lacks the basic support to maintain a social-media presence.

No lawn signs.

Yes, she wins more votes that Bernie.

I think Joe Scarborough said it best as he was leaving Iowa. He said well-known reporters (names we would all recognize) kept coming up to him, "You know Bernie won. You know Bernie won. What is this Bolivia in the 1930s?" as Steve Schmidt remarked that "it was "shady as hell."

Something has been VERY, VERY off since Iowa and has continued to play out in the chaos, disenfranchisement, voter suppression, vote flipping, 6-hour-waits to vote, shortages of polling locations and whatever other kabuki bullshit is dished out.

From Eastern CT, near UConn, to East Haddam, then Groton, Noank, Mystic, Stonington, back up Rt 2 through Preston/Foxwoods, then Willimantic and back home. That kind of "traveling the state." There were several Bernie signs. There are quite a few of them in the yards in our area, but then it is a college town.

One house near us had three Trump signs out last Thursday. Now there are six. I guess he likes Trump.

Again, I'm not trying to claim this is anything but anecdotal, although obviously the DU "Panties In A Wad" group have already taken note. I just thought it was an interesting observation given the areas we drove through. I would have thought the very wealthy would be more likely to be backing the Wall Street candidate.

I haven't seen any lawn signs but some bumper stickers. Mostly Trump, a few Bernie. Nary a Hillary sticker in sight. Not a one, not even a single one. But I don't go out much so that may not mean anything.

I have a bunch of lawn signs in my garage. I'll be putting them up later in the campaign season. It's too early right now, and they lose impact if left up too long. I never put any up for primaries, though. I can't. I'm a DFL Party precinct chair and its against the rules for me to endorse any primary c a candidate. No car stickers, either.

Soon, though,I'll have my yard display up. I have some 3' x 4' Cinton signs. I have large signs, too for every legislator on our ballot. They'll be up soon. Folks in my neighborhood expect them
