2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumJust remember one basic fact folks....
One does not steal elections in order to do GOOD things once in office.

(4,311 posts)And since there is absolutely no evidence that Hillary or her camp have had anything to do with voter irregularities...
And since the voter irregularities in AZ and NY disenfranchised voters who would likely have been voting for Hillary...
And since Bernie's camp is the one saying "Let's overturn the will of the 2.7 million MORE Democratic voters who have voted for Hillary by trying to strong-arm super delegates to declare for us"...
Which one of our candidates is actually trying to "steal" this election?
If Bernie's camp tries to steal this election away from the majority of Democratic voters who have clearly expressed their preference for Hillary, then I agree completely that they do not plan to do good things. Seems more like they plan to massage the ego of a candidate who has not won fair and square.

(6,476 posts)Getting more voters to the polls. It isn't. So take your numbers, because like so much in our political system they don't mean a damned thing. If you think this has been a clean primary you haven't been paying attention. This isn't about what team you're on it's about our country and democracy. We are an Oligarchy now, not a democracy anymore...that should bother everyone.

(4,311 posts)Because Democrats get to choose the candidate from their party. Republicans get to choose the candidate from their party. Greens, all the other parties, the same. And then in the GE, the rest of the population gets to choose between the candidates the party has chosen.
I think all primaries should be closed. No caucuses, no open primaries, just Democrats choosing Democrats in a simple process. Mail-in voting would be ideal; then you can recount if there's any trouble. And that's it.

This is a trend. People are leaving. Parties are defunct and corrupt entities that don't represent the citizens. Then they make it impossible for citizens to vote or almost impossible. Why? Corruption.
You need to educate yourself.

(4,311 posts)I want us to continue Obama's progress, and add some of Hillary's ideas to push things forward. I think we are moving in a good direction, and I'm pleased with Democratic leadership. I'd like us to have a little deeper bench when it comes to young superstars in the party, but I think that can be accomplished. In general, I feel content. The majority of Democrats polled feel as I do about Dem leadership and the direction of the country.
And to answer your first question, yes I care very deeply about the country. It's MY country.

(740 posts)...first they decide that something targeted happened to voter rolls without evidence and now they're making new posts using that speculation, as though it were fact, as a basis for judgment.

(6,476 posts)Not the majority.
I'm an FDR Democrate not a neoliberal/neocon third way republican light. I think the country is way, way off track and we got here by voting the lesser evil. I refuse to do that anymore and I think the momentum is with me and those like me.
