Foreign policy is an Obama strength. Weaken it and at the same time get it to dovetail with his 'foreigness' to peel away more white votes. Pure Rove.

Their base feeds off fear and hate. They fear everything and they hate Obama and the Democrats. Anything Faux can do to strip away our voters or energize their voters will be done at all cost.

Basically, they're the 5 y.o. with a lot of money, but not a lot of common sense.

one thing I know for sure is Republicans care about the deaths of the Americans and their families only to the extent that they might use them for political gain. If they were sure they could'nt get anywhere with this line of attack, they would drop this like a hot potato.

....they keep giving T'baggers space to say stupid stuff like Obama needs to come clean about his birth place and birth certificate. They appeal to the low information people who won't read or research any further then what they claim. Plus, if they repeat a lie enough - they will have folks believing it to be real.

A bit further, consider the tactic the GOP uses...say something patently false then "retract it". Have you ever paid attention to on-air retractions? How often do those types of retractions happen? Even in the "old-fashioned" newspaper, retractions are hard to find....so the lie is heard around the world (so to speak) while the retraction is hidden and gets no fanfare.

My father watches Faux News exclusively (you can't tell him it's all lies - he doesn't care, they are lies that he likes to hear.) This whole administration, Faux News has been pounding and pounding about how awful President Jimmy Carter was. (I loved President Carter, but I'm sure most people here do.)

Anyway, the meme has been for four years, off and on so viewers wouldn't grow tired of it, "President Carter was the worst President ever."

I know this sounds like tinfoil hat territory, but I think the film that inflammed some Muslims and the terrorist strike in Libya were all part and parcel of making President Obama look like President Carter (and thus win the election.)

I think the right wingers in power are powerful enough to pull off an operation like this and I think they are evil enough to plan for it and do it. And I think they planned this from the time President Obama was sworn in.

That was their big plan to get him out of office. That and the other dirty tricks.

They aren't abandoning this plan because this, like voter supression, is all they've got.

Crude oil - proved reserves:
47.1 billion bbl (1 January 2012 est.)
country comparison to the world: 10

The process of lifting US unilateral sanctions began in the spring of 2004; all sanctions were removed by June 2006, helping Libya attract greater foreign direct investment, especially in the energy sector. Libyan oil and gas licensing rounds drew high international interest, but new rounds are unlikely until Libya establishes a more permanent government. The National Oil Corporation (NOC) set a goal of nearly doubling oil production to 3 million bbl/day by 2012, but the goal is unlikely to be met by the target date. Libya faces a long road ahead in liberalizing its primarily socialist economy, but the revolution probably increases the opportunity for entrepreneurial activity and the evolution of a more market-based economy.

There's actually a major foreign policy crisis and potential terrorism catastrophe behind the the Libya 9/11 events, but those turkeys don't have the guts to go there. F-ck 'em.
