2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumThis is a "Hello, Beautiful World" (HBW) Post
That beautiful world is brought to you by the upcoming Democratic National Convention and the beginning of General Election campaign season. It's something I've looked forward to for almost four years. Soon, we'll begin to find ways to make sure that we have a Democratic President, a Senate controlled by a majority of Democrats and make serious inroads into regaining a majority in the House.
It's a presidential campaign year. For everyone who lives and breathes politics, it's what we look forward to, because we have another opportunity to help create progressive change.
For those who aren't eagerly anticipating this campaign, I'm very sorry that things aren't to your liking. If you post a GBCW post, you'll miss all the fun, excitement and anticipation of victory. The Democratic primaries are almost over and it seems absolutely certain that Hillary Clinton will be the party's nominee. She's not perfect, but she'll be our candidate, fighting a winning battle against someone like Donald Trump or Ted Cruz. What a glorious day it will be when we watch her victory speech in November, and then her inauguration in January of 2016.
Please join me now in saying, "Hello, Beautiful World!" It's going to be exciting!

(146,288 posts)I'm not even thinking about Cabinet positions. That is still to come. Right now, we have to get a Democratic President elected. Time's short, so the sooner we start, the better.

(146,288 posts)I'm a Democrat. I support electing Democrats because I know for an absolute certainty that we do better when Democrats are in power. I'm actually a Socialist, but realize that we will not have a Socialistic government in my lifetime. We might have a Republican one, though. I think that's a terrible idea.
Let's win in 2016! What do you say?

This was no coincidence:

Hello, Beautiful World! One step at a time. Won't you join in making something happen?
