REASON FOR ALERT:
This post is disruptive, hurtful, rude, insensitive, over-the-top, or otherwise inappropriate. (See Community Standards.)
ALERTER'S COMMENTS:
again with the trolls
You served on a randomly-selected Jury of DU members which reviewed this post. The review was completed at Fri Oct 26, 2012, 12:17 PM, and the Jury voted 3-3 to LEAVE IT.
Juror #1 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE and said: No explanation given
Juror #2 voted to HIDE IT and said: No explanation given
Juror #3 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE and said: Poster makes it abundantly clear, only 2 posts down, that they're joking in this response.
Dumbass alert. Read the freakin' thread before going troll hunting.
Juror #4 voted to HIDE IT and said: Ordinarily I would let stand, but this poster doesn't show anything to back up his claim. I've seen no polls indicating that Romney is up big in Ohio?
Juror #5 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE and said: I think either the alerter got the wrong poster or that the post was being sarcastic.
Juror #6 voted to HIDE IT and said: Agreed. No sarcasm smilie to mitigate that comment, which is a lie.
Thank you very much for participating in our Jury system, and we hope you will be able to participate again in the future.

(576 posts)I sent the alert at 11:58 AM, which is before you wrote the post that you were joking. I apologize for calling you a troll. Sorry I missed the sarcasm in your comment.
cheers.
Kind of hard not to sense the sarcasm there... Man, Nov. 8 is going to be a very stressful day (I only read the spanish on my ballot)

(24,411 posts)Romeny has NEVER led in an Ohio poll.
Obama is up five in the latest NBC/Marist poll, in Ohio.
Even the MSM talking heads are now openly discussing how Ohio looks almost impossible for Romney. Five points is insurmountable with ten days left to go.
And Ohio's economic conditions are better than the national average. Unemployment there is seven percent.
I don't know what the CMC but they're wrong.
Joe Scarborough even acknowledged that a Romney loss in Ohio is highly likely.
obamanut2012

Pretty much just a puff piece where a reporter goes around to previous locations Obama had photo op's in the 2008 campaign and talk to a few voters - some say they are for him, others say they think he's a good guy but might vote Romney or they don't know. Overall, I think the report is just trying to say it's a close race (according to the people interviewed). Though fwiw I am pretty sure the majority of Canadians support Obama (and don't think it would even be close).

(32,822 posts)My profile says I'm from Canada. That would make it the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation.
I listen to CBC 2 (normally on AM but I get the FM feed) which is mostly news and current affairs shows. In this format, there's time for longer interviews, typically 5 minutes. They did a long interview with a correspondent working for them in the US who had done a series of interviews in 2008, then went back and talked to the same people. They also looked at a variety of polling numbers, called Ohio a "battleground" and "lynchpin" State, and said Romney was ahead, and this late in the game saw no change in the numbers.

I blame it on the stress of the seasonal pumpkin fest they're having. It messes with a persons mind to be exposed to THAT much pumpkin on a daily basis.

(28,787 posts)what about the chances of a steal by the republicans? this is my greatest fear and it is stressing the crap out of me frankly. plus i'm in NC which is a battleground state and if we don't go blue again my heart will break.
only skullduggery with the e-voting machines will allow mittsnake to win in Ohio. This connection to tagg rmoney worries me. But this time no silence and sheepilism if the election is stolen. The country will never be the same or go back with the election of Obama in 08. The white house is no longer an exclusive domain. and not all liberal/progressives turn the other cheek.

We may have the turn out and the vote but what are they doing about the vote being stolen?

(94,489 posts)and as for machine rigging (sigh....), I don't think its a real issue because no elected official, candidate or Party officer that I've talked to (and I give enough money to get frank discussions with all of them) has alleged, publicly or privately, that this has happened.

He picks one that makes the electronic voting machines that are used not only in Hamilton County, Ohio, but other battleground states as well. It really is just a coincidence now isn't it jethro? Enjoy trolling this site do you?
You have to ask why a man who wants to run for president would invest in a voting machine company 1 year before he starts campaigning. Just laying the groundwork?

(1,309 posts)we win if we get more of our voters out to vote. I personally care nothing about the guesses your friend makes. If he is not working hard to get out the vote, maybe he needs to get busy. We have lots of rigged districts in Ohio and who knows what our republican controlled boards of election may allow under Husted's leadership.
Please quit indulging in prophesy and make your wishes hapen. Sign up with Organizing for America, Your county Democratic party or your union to get out the vote. We need in order of priority- 1. canvassers and drivers of canvassers, 2. Telephone recruiters for more volunteers, 3. Comfort captains and people bringing food and snack to staging locations. 4. lkitewrature and canvassing package assemblers and data entree people.
None of this is to imply superiority of any role over another but rather reflects our current needs.Lets not just get fired up, lets comit to beating Romney and the republicans.

(28,158 posts)Both, for what you're doing and what you said, "we win if we get more of our voters out to vote."
You've the right of it, and I agree with everything you said. That is how elections are won. Everyone working there has my utmost respect, yourself included.
I wish I were able to be there to help with the ground game. All I can do from here is donate and make calls.
Thank you, and everyone there for giving your all. It is appreciated.
