WTF! Bernie Says "Thank YOU,George Clooney - obscene amount of money"

We were really disappointed in George Clooney doing the $353,000.00 per couple fund raiser for Hillary (mainly because of his upcoming anti-Wall Street movie, and we were having real discussions about asking him to play Romney in our eToys fraud cae movie). Then - TODAY - Bernie's campaign sends me an email titled "Thank YOU, George Clooney".

WTF!

Turns out that George Clooney was being interviewed, live, on NBC, about the Hillary fundraiser, and was quoted stating:

"It is an obscene amount of money, the Sanders campaign when they talk about it is absolutely right. It’s ridiculous that we have this kind of money in politics."

[br][br]

Hey - GEORGE - I've got an idea for you, how about you hold a $27 per person fund raiser and you open remark for Bernie?

just sayin........

Clooney and Warren Buffet talk I'm surprised they didn't refuse the tax break.

It was powerful that he just said it with out even hesitating. Was there more to the interview where he explained why he did the fund raising? I think many say it is a necessary evil to counter balance the right.

But what he said on national tv with the tone he took was very powerful. He did not miss a single beat on the response.

"I think the Clinton campaign has not been very good at explaining this and this is the truth: the overwhelming amount of money that we're raising, and it is a lot but the overwhelming amount of the money that we're raising, is not going to Hillary to run for President, it's going to the down ballot ticket," he said.

Also...

"The Supreme Court can overturn Citizens United and get this obscene, ridiculous amount of money out so I never have to do a fundraiser again," he said. "And that's why I'm doing it."

The superhero-playing actor has his sights firmly set on electing Democratic candidates so that a liberal minded justice can be confirmed to the court in the last-best-hope of revising campaign finance laws for good.

All of this context seems to be missing from the OP for some reason. Strange, right?

Clooney is good, but by aiding and abetting a process that he knows is problematic, it shows that he falls short of greatness.
