Whoa! What's going on here this morning? Another feigned outrage I see.

I swear, it's always a surprise when I log in to see the latest posts.

Everyone, and I mean EVERYONE on DU knows the meaning and context of "corporate whore".

It has absolutely nothing to do with being a woman, or providing sex for money.

Get over yourselves already and talk about issues, or is that something you just can't do?

One who has sold more than their labor to the corporation; one who has forsaken personal values and constitution for corporate $$; meaning of "whore" belittled when preceded by the word “corporate”; person who will sell their soul for $$.
My efforts are not driven by my passion for work, but by my own gluttony, my addition to money. I have become what I once despised—forsaken myself, I am a corporate whore.

“It is important not to suppress your feelings altogether when you are depressed. It is equally important to avoid terrible arguments or expressions of outrage. You should steer clear of emotionally damaging behavior. People forgive, but it is best not to stir things up to the point at which forgiveness is required. When you are depressed, you need the love of other people, and yet depression fosters actions that destroy that love. Depressed people often stick pins into their own life rafts. The conscious mind can intervene. One is not helpless.” Andrew Solomon

More women vote than men. Defending men who attack women in terms of their gender is a losing strategy. Song could have pursued that same line of criticism against Clinton by using any other word in a thesaurus. If the complaints and criticisms were only coming from gender specific websites, commentators, journalists, you might get some traction with that line. However, that's not what's happening, and even Sanders is apologizing for the unearned error he's now tagged with thanks to his own surrogate's ill chosen words.

If there was as little public interest as you claim, the news cycle would have already moved on to more revenue generating topics, but that's not what's happening either. This remains one of today's top headlines, and it will get even more traction, and generate still more public interest, when it pops up as a hot topic in tonight's debate.

Ignoring Bernie's woman problem is what's delusional. When his followers keep it going by floating these cringe worthy evasions it's petty and embarrassing and against everything he is trying to accomplish.

You're trying to make this into a Macaca moment, and it just isn't that. It was a black joke told by white people, and that sorta thing generally flops, as this one painfully did.

The point here is, context matters. If someone had some secretly recorded Di blasio, say, commenting on a black guy being late to a meeting, and he said "well you know them black people, they're never on time", THAT would probably been widely condemned.

This ain't that, and it's time for Camp Sanders to build a bridge and get over it.

I don't think the term "cp time" is appropriately said by anyone, no matter their skin color or their family's ethnicity. The same way I feel about the n-word. NO ONE SHOULD BE SAYING THOSE THINGS!

Whoever is running the Sanders campaign needs to reassess because he's not being well-served by his advisers — what with Pope-gate, NYDN-gate and now Whore-gate all in the same week leading up to the New York primary, the most important one to date.

WTF is going on?

Clinton's are in a tailspin with internal movement so fast it's hard to gauge, AND the news of Clinton's using the Delaware offshore account firm. Way to go Hillary. Why doesn't she just carry on, continue making all the money the Pope says is addiction, and forget trying to convince people she should be OUR president. 75. Well what would you expect from a bunch of lawyers?
Thu Apr 14, 2016, 11:22 AM
Apr 2016

That is the problem, many politicians are of the lawyer trade. In earlier times it was okay because the politicians ran on their own volition.
In today's world, they are lawyers culled by principles with deep financial interests that have the number one priority to make rich people richer with as much lawyer-ease as needed. It's no accident the places where they store law books occupy many large rooms and buildings. It's insurance the that lawyers will eventually get their way no matter how corrupt things are.

Most occupations that had such a dubious record as lawyers would have regulated or even outlawed in most plural societies. Yet they proliferate around the world and have the US capitol as their base of operation. It seems obvious they will give all kinds or rational for it. But the end game is they cannot in this space and time defend the results.

Yea, it's not the words, but the real intent behind them

However, let those screeching about the "corporate whore" metaphor fall on their fainting couches over Hillary Clinton has sold her soul to the devil.

All one needs to do is to look at her fucking donor list. One then knows that she metaphorically both has sold her soul, and is a corporate whore.

Both are metaphors, a concept about which both Hillary and her supporters seem to be uneducated about.

Let them now screech about "selling ones soul".

It won't do any good.

No! And if any supporters of Sanders are, then they don't speak for me or our candidate. So quick to pull the sexism card because that's all her side has!

She supports fracking, supports war, supports monied interests, and supports the establishment.

Of course she's not a whore! But, she isn't what our country needs right now! The middle class is shrinking, student and consumer debt is at an all time high, and she has proven her propensity to work through issues at the barrel of the US military arsenal, and she has too close of ties to the corporate elite.

Do Hill supporters really think that we're just going to cave in on our principles in November? I won't, and I won't!

Good luck with the Drumpf administration, because that's what we'll have if Hill is the nominee.
