Gallup just polled me at 8:03pm PST

First the number they called from was 402-952-4444 and it actually came up as Gallup Poll which is the only reason I answered it.

They told me they where Gallup Poll calling on behalf of the 2012 election and if I would mind answering a few questions. I said I don't mind.

1st question "For statistical purposes what is your gender?" answer-Female
2nd question " Are you between the age of 18-24,24-30, 31-45 ect....
3rd question " Are you planning to or have you cast a vote in the 2012 election for the office of President or Senator? Answer-Yes
4th question "Yes you are planning to vote or yes you have cast a vote? -Yes I have cast my vote
5th question " When casting your vote did you vote for the democratic candidate Barack Obama, the Republican candidate Mitt Romney, Gary Johnson or Jill Stein?- President Obama

Change of questions happened then- Is this your first time voting or did you cast a vote in the 2010 midterm elections- I voted in 2010.
Did you vote in the 2008 elections?- Yes

On a 5 point scale with 5 being very satisfied and 1 being dissatisfied how do you feel about the job President Obama is doing?- 5
Then they bounced back and asked me if I was single or married.- I'm married

They thanked me for my time and that was that. I always wondered who are they calling and tonight they called me. Any other night I would have missed this phone call because I usually ignore my land line after 8pm. Anyone who knows me calls my cell phone. Glad I picked up the phone to see who it was.

Just thought you guys might be interested in the things they asked.

1. That's an Omaha area code--Gallup is based there.

2. I don't personally know anyone who was ever polled by Gallup . . .

I was starting to think they just make up the data! Thanks for your post!

3. You got lucky, because I have been on the phone for long periods of time with pollsters.

5. I was

On the phone awhile. I just posted about the questions they asked me about President Obama. They asked about the senate race here as well. They asked me my thoughts on Shelly Berkley(D) who is running against Dean Heller(R) here.

13. I think she will

If President Obama wins our state +5. It will be harder if the margin is smaller than that. Our state is weird like Wisconsin where they like Walker and Obama my state likes Obama and Heller. Very odd. I phone bank a lot and I feel very confident that President Obama is a lock to win Nevada. Only thing no one knows is the margin. For some reason people seem soured on Berkley as if Heller is a saint or something. Very odd.

4. The way things are going, Gallup will probably claim you're a Likely Voter and may not vote,...

...or since you've already voted, they won't include you at all.

6. Excellent...

I think you're very lucky. I was called once by Gallup about a month ago, but I wasn't home to answer the call. I noticed a call from "Gallup" in my call log.

I was polled by SurveyUSA and Rasmussen in 2008, but nothing since then (except what I suspect was push polling).

7. I noted that you exercised your right not to reveal your age to us!

That's okay though and thanks for voting for the president.

9. I find it humorous so many women are so concious about hiding their age

As if by looking at women we can't tell how old they are.

12. LOL

Oh you noticed that did ya?

I'm not ashamed of my age really so I really should have posted it. I'm 37. I'm still a P.Y.T (pretty young thang)

14. There is nothing to be ashamed of at all

and I thought it would be good for a laugh (although I didn't want to be overtly sexist to the point of getting an alert)! Thanks for joining in the fun.

BTW, I'm 47, you pretty whipper-snapping young thang.

8. Well, then, I'm expecting a serious improvement in Obama's numbers tomorrow!

Otherwise, you're going to have a lot of explaining to do.

15. R's are more likely to vote in the mid-term elections.

I wonder if that question may be skewing their numbers?
