2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumI've noticed a correlation between how badly Bernie is doing, and how far back
in time Hillary-haters go to dig up smears. And I see a lot of smears from years ago being posted here today.

(22,340 posts)That's going back REALLY far.
It's kind of funny, actually. And sad. Well, mostly sad.

(1,947 posts)it's hard to do so when we don't know what her stance will be tomorrow. It must pain you not knowing where your candidate will stand from fundraiser to fundraiser. But there is no need to dig up old dirt about Hillary, she gives us new stuff every day. The Panama papers are just another example how we can see Hillary supporting big business only. It's her MO, but you know that, temporarily until the wind blows.

Here, we have an individual evolve so many times, its original form is lost, and its many variants forgotten.

(50,248 posts)Hillary has been the most famous woman in the world for years and somehow she can't put away a 74 year old Vermont Senator who few people knew a year ago. What with today's predicted win, Bernie will be adding to his winning streak which should be a bit of an embarrassment for team Clinton.

(3,473 posts)It must be embarrassing to not be gaining any ground. Sanders is running out of states ... he's not going to be the comeback kid.

(25,816 posts)and the delegates are 7-7. That is an embarrassment to democracy.
SFnomad
(3,473 posts)He was in a state that isn't very diverse, and it was a caucus state ... his 11% win looks a bit anemic by those metrics.
And the 7-7 tie in delegates is because of the rules the state party goes by and how they round numbers. I notice that when the rules (and math) benefit Sanders, his cheerleaders love it. When the rules (or math) do not, it is either anti-democratic, they're an embarrassment to democracy or they're somehow part of a grand conspiracy ... and that's pretty predictable.

(3,473 posts)I never saw ANY polls on Wyoming, ever, so we know where you pulled that 40 points number from. Neither fiverthirtyeight nor realclearpolitics had any Wyoming Democratic polls on their sites and they aggregate polls from all over.
So thanks for playing, we have wonderful parting gifts for you.

(1,788 posts)but that Bernie did....It's OK to have a talk about things, but man, own up...Bernie voted where Hillary couldn't. I'm not saying that he was wrong or right, but he was able to change the tide....he didn't or couldn't, but don't blame her.

(3,089 posts)When I explained how young people are often swayed by the politics of their parents and how it was still to her credit to engage in politics she looked at me in amazement. THEN I explained how, after working for the Goldwater campaign and getting to know what they were all about...Hillary used her own critical thinking skills to change he own mind about Republicans because she found them to be too extreme, racist, and sexist. She change early on and became a Democrat because she found their social positions to be more in line with her own. It is much better to be able to think for yourself, not be dogmatic about anything and realize you don't have all the answers and that others opinions should be valued, studied and weighed. Even in my down life, my family was staunch Republican...mainly because Lincoln was. Until 1960 I was too and changed to Democrat, and study all the candidates closely in all the elections and vote accordingly. She asked if I would ever vote for a Republican. I told her I could never say "never" but most assuredly not in this election.
Lots of questioning back and forth...good discussion after we almost have not been able to discuss politics because she was so thrilled by Bernie wanting give kids free college tuition. I think she understands that one's positions on politics can change over time and it's ok and probably better to make mistakes and learn from them. "I guess" she said as she left the kitchen.

(1,183 posts)What the Sanders fans are posting at Clinton and what the Clinton fans are posting at Sanders fans is normal rhetoric; it is mere boiler plate.
When someone is nominated, that candidate will go out and take on the GOP.
Most of the Clinton fans will vote for Sanders, if he is nominated.
Most of the Sanders will vote for Clinton if she is nominated.
