Sanders Over the Edge

Sanders Over the Edge
Paul Krugman APRIL 8, 2016

From the beginning, many and probably most liberal policy wonks were skeptical about Bernie Sanders. On many major issues — including the signature issues of his campaign, especially financial reform — he seemed to go for easy slogans over hard thinking. And his political theory of change, his waving away of limits, seemed utterly unrealistic.

Mr. Sanders is starting to sound like his worst followers. Bernie is becoming a Bernie Bro.

But recent attacks on Mrs. Clinton as a tool of the fossil fuel industry are just plain dishonest, and speak of a campaign that has lost its ethical moorings.

If he thinks Clinton is the best candidate, and agrees with her positions, fine. he coulod have advocated for that.

But he has been insulting and dismissive and closed minded instead of merely advocating.

And I know he's one of the "fragile flowers" who whine they have been unfairly attacked by those awful "Berniebtosd."

But the problem is he chose to be insulting and arrogant and deliberately provocative -- and therefore he provoked a reaction. It's called action and reaction.

The republicans are loving this though.

Bernie's co-revolutionaries, Trump and Cruz are still hoping for a Bernie nomination, no doubt.
