2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumWhy did Bernie Sanders vote to confirm Hillary Clinton as Secretary of State?
Simple question. She voted for the Iraq War resolution, yet he still voted to confirm her as Secretary of State. It seems odd to confirm someone for a foreign policy position when you disagreed with them on a key foreign policy vote.

(3,660 posts)These stupid OPs are just ridiculous. You guys can't defend Hillary on her own, so you want to hide her behind Obama or Kerry all the time. Good choice for a presidential candidate...

(12,689 posts)You're going into a rage for no reason. Considering that he has made voting against the Iraq War resolution as matter of principle, it seems like he would not have voted to confirm someone who voted for said resolution. One vote against confirmation is not stopping the President from appointing his cabinet.

(6,960 posts)This is a concept that ought to apply to Republican and Democratic presidents alike.
Unless, of course, there is some kind of criminal or ethical corruption.
Pres. Obama wanted Clinton ... so Sen. Sanders gave the President the executive appointments he desired.

Thank goodness America doesn't have Hillary Clinton in that office anymore.
Her use of the office to enrich her family and foundation is utterly shameful. Her reckless propensity for military intervention in the middle east has caused untold damage on the region and our foreign policy.
Bernie, Obama, and the rest of Democrats who trusted her made an error in judgment voting in Clinton as SOS.
