BBC poll: Rest of world favours Obama

22 October 2012

A BBC World Service opinion poll has found sharply higher overseas approval ratings for US President Barack Obama than Republican challenger Mitt Romney.

An average of 50% favoured Mr Obama, with 9% for Mr Romney, in the survey of 21,797 people in 21 countries.

Only Pakistan's respondents said they would prefer to see Mr Romney win November's election.

France was the most strongly pro-Obama (72%). Mr Obama's ancestral homeland of Kenya (18%) was the most pro-Romney.

I commented earlier that the American People WON tonight because PBO Won and really the whole Lonely Planet WON!

Thanks for the chart, TroyD!

Of course, the Pugs will say that is only because Obama is too soft on those countries.

When Obama is favored there by nearly 50 points. Maybe it's the least anti-Romney country, but to take 18% approval and claim it's in any way pro-Romney is a joke.

Of course they do. They remember the last silverspoon sociopath buffoon. They want the Statesman they have dealt with the last four years, not another silverspoon sociopath buffoon. In other words, they are intelligent.

But people don't follow the election very closely. Some of the television stations have done specials about the election about the candidates and then trying (laughs) to explain our electoral system.
