(5,402 posts)It makes you look pretty ignorant.
Clinton picks dates that reduce viewers, and enhance bias. The day before taxes are due is such a date.
She wants to debate about as much as the Marlboro Man wants a lung x-ray.

oh yeah they would in a heart beat.

(85,986 posts)Sanders has held rallies on the same day as debates before. There is no good reason not to keep to the date he initially proposed.

(8,175 posts)In the latest, strange chapter of the posturing in advance of the critical Empire State primary on April 19, Clinton said shes pencilled in an April 14 match-up organized by NY1 News and CNN.
I will be there, Clinton told NY1. I think youve penciled it in for the 14th [of April]. Ill be there.
But Sanders who has been prodding the Democratic frontrunner for a New York face-off said hes agreed to a Sunday April 10 debate with NBC News.
His campaign blasted Clinton for disingenuously booking an April 14 date when she knows the Vermont senator already had locked in a park permit for a major rally in New York City, spokesman Michael Briggs said.

A coveted park rally in Manhatten? Central Park? That will be awesome, if the weather is good.

DES MOINES, Iowa Bernie Sanders campaign manager, Jeff Weaver, issued the following statement Saturday on negotiations over additional debates:
After refusing for months to participate in more debates, Secretary Clinton requested that the Democratic National Committee rules be changed and that a new debate take place in New Hampshire next week. We agreed pending an agreement on three future debates in March, April and May. Unfortunately, the Clinton campaign has not accepted debates we proposed on March 3 in Michigan and April 14 in New York. They apparently agreed to May 24 in California. The Clinton campaign, after not accepting Michigan, now says they want it. We are pleased to do it on March 3 before the Michigan primary provided the Clinton campaign will agree to Brooklyn, New York, on April 14. Why wont they debate in Brooklyn? Whats the matter with Brooklyn?
Sen Sanders requested a debate in Brooklyn on April 14. We have agreed to a debate in Brooklyn on April 14. Not sure what the issue is.

(31,170 posts)even though they were actually in negotiations for the debate when they claimed she wouldn't debate him. More shady campaign behavior.
He just can't help himself playing the victim. His perpetual victim status is obviously good for fund raising.

(21,210 posts)week a date still had not been finalized which is why the Sander's campaign last week went public about the April debate after two months of behind the scenes talks.
So I ask again when did the Clinton campaign accept the April 14th debate? Was it after the Sanders campaign had secured a difficult permit for a rally in Manhattan and after not having a commitment from the Clinton campaign.
The Clinton campaign would not play that game, or would they?

(20,453 posts)It's a little unclear at this point why you would only point to one person who has since the first suggestion has taken permits out for the event in NY.
