(24,411 posts)The final statewide delegate delegate count after the County Conventions is: Clinton 704; Sanders 700.
The next phase is the District Conventions, which are held 4/30.
Should be interesting.
I'm a Bernie delegate and I will be there.
Is it official that the entire state of NV flipped to Bernie? I knew the Clark County gains that Bernie made today were incredible impressive (so excited for them and proud of those Clark County Bernie delegates). I didn't hear officially that this changes the total outcome. If so, that is amazing and awesome! So many of her delegates did not show. Hundreds!

(23,156 posts)simply aren't as enthusiastic and committed as the Bernie ones.
Plus, at least some people who become delegates don't bother to find out what is actually next, which is to attend the next level of the process.
Thanks guys.

(24,411 posts)The numbers that I mentioned (704 for Clinton; 700 for Bernie) does not mean that a total of 1404 Iowans showed up for their County Conventions. Not at all.
Tens of thousands showed up at those County Conventions. I do not know the exact number.
What happens at those County Conventions is that we elect delegates to move on to the District Level Conventions. The numbers of delegates are apportioned and condensed. So, now we're at 704 for Clinton; 700 for Bernie. The final 704/700 numbers represent the tens of thousands of delegates who showed up at their County Conventions.
At the District Convention on 4/30, Iowans will elect delegates to go to the State Convention. The total number of delegates will be apportioned into smaller numbers, until finally we reach the Democratic National Convention with our final number of delegates representing the state of Iowa..
I hope that makes sense.
But MANY Iowans showed to the County Conventions!
Thank you CC!

(24,411 posts)I know this stuff is confusing. It's confusing to me.
I'm glad people are asking questions and commenting though.
I don't want anyone to think that only 1,400 Iowans showed up for their County Conventions. hehe
We take the process very seriously.

(24,411 posts)I like your projection. How do you arrive at your numbers?
That would be wonderful.

(24,411 posts)No one is rooting for cheating.
Sometimes pledge delegates don't show up for their candidate. That can change the delegate count. That's what happened in Nevada. Hundreds didn't bother to show up for Clinton in NV. So, she lost delegates.
Iowa could flip if Hillary delegates don't show up.
That's all he was saying. No one is advocating for cheating.
At my County Convention in Iowa--117 of Hillary's delegates didn't bother to show up.
Candidates lose delegates when their delegates don't bother showing up.
