Lauding Obama, Clinton cites ‘impatient’ Americans

Lauding Obama, Clinton cites ‘impatient’ Americans

BY BRIAN BAKST

GREEN BAY, Wis. (AP) — Former President Bill Clinton says President Barack Obama is facing a tough re-election race because “impatient” Americans haven’t fully recognized an economy on the mend.

Campaigning for Obama Friday night in Green Bay, Wis., Clinton urged voters to stay the course as more signs of a recovery sink in. Clinton says voters should judge Obama on the final three years, in which private sector job growth has made up for lost ground.

Republican Mitt Romney argues that the tepid recovery is grounds for a change.

Clinton won Wisconsin in both of his presidential campaigns. Republicans think they can flip the state, which hasn’t gone to them since 1984. Wisconsin congressman Paul Ryan is on Romney’s ticket and has campaigned there heavily in the past few months.

If anything makes me shake my head in disbelief, it is the lack of both critical thinking skills and ability to learn from the past in this country.

1) There are the people dead set on voting for their side ~23% - 25% and who's televisions and radios are directly connected from Fox to their blood veins.
2) There are the people dead set on voting for our side ~39% who have a world view and understand the complexities between two or more ideas.
3) Then there are the people who are in the middle and who will single-handedly determine whether America wins or loses, huge! Some vote for candidates because they like them (looks, sex appeal, etc). Some vote for candidates base prejudice (race, popularity, gender, etc). These are low information voters, who don't think there's a difference between the candidates and are not interested in digging any deeper than a coin toss. They vote more on impulse than through competent deductive logic.

Our fate hinges in the balance.

Logic would indicate that, since it took the repukes EIGHT YEARS to bludgeon our country into unrecognizable chaos, it would be impossible to turn things around in just four years!

One would think that, after all the tragedies, crises, and hardship most of us have endured, the low information voters would realize how critical it is to know what's happening in politics and start paying attention!!

The truth is that a good chunk of the electorate is brainwashed or too stupid or lazy to think for more than a few minutes about what happened under Bush and how that impacts what Obama is dealing with now. Third world countries have better informed electorates and more people who understand the collective and how things work in the economy.
