2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumWhy can't Hillary seal the deal?
After her big wins a week ago, why is Hillary still being rejected in states like Utah and Idaho? Don't they know that she is inevitable?

(58,785 posts)at this point in 2008. Look, skip the phony posts pretending she's not doing very well indeed.
And Bernie is way behind, but technically he could still win. Quite unlikely, but it is nevertheless possible.
Note that last wasn't even painful to admit for someone tough enough to face the truth. Of course I'm not the kind of extreme partisan fool who swallowed her own propaganda and now thinks the opponent's election would mean the end of all dreams. That does make a difference, I'm sure.
As for those who've developed really nasty attitudes toward Hillary, IMO by definition they are not qualified to judge her morality. Moral people respect, search for, and accept truth, whatever it is.

(9,527 posts)You can talk all you want about her negatives, but you don't have an argument about what that says about Sanders. If he was really so much more popular why isn't he winning more states, delegates or votes?

(12,804 posts)she's been in the news for decades and many Democrats know her and not Bernie.
Like when buying a product, buyers stick with the brand they know than try a new one.
In the BE, her approval numbers will matter. She'll win the typical blue states, like mine, but between the coasts, she will struggle.

(1,681 posts)Not much to get behind. If she manages to win, she's going to owe a lot of people a lot of favors in office. I don't even know why she wants to be president considering she triggers such revulsion in so many people.

(1,681 posts)For many reasons, such as not knowing other options exist(which is the case for many people due to the media blackout), or wanting to be on the winning team, since one is being pushed as inevitable, or out of fear.
Kind of like how the Hillary people on here are begging the Sanders people to back Hillary in the general, even though Jill Stein will more than likely be on the ballot. I'm sure they like her more, and I'm sure they like her policies more, but the Republican boogeyman will push many of them to vote for her.
Your justification sucks about as much as Hillary's policies do.

(7,299 posts)Idaho and Utah had only a fraction of the voters that Arizona saw. Sanders can flood the zone in Utah and Idaho and distort the process. That's why he fails in large primaries because the will of the people are truly heard there.

(6,551 posts)Bernie continues to perform poorly in the delegate count. And that's all that matters.
He wins caucus states which are more likely for long shots to win. Hillary didn't give Utah and Idaho much attention at all. Bernie barnstormed those states. So the results weren't surprising.
Let's see how he does back East in all those closed primaries.
