There is nothing pretend about my belief in a liberal (dare I say Democratic Socialist) agenda, which used to align with traditional Democratic values. I have never been and Independent and I have never been a Republican. I am not a pretend Democrat.

The pretend Democrats are the ones that run closer to the middle and compromise their party's ideals to gain perceived "crossover appeal".
