Related: About this forumThe latest attack - 'Bernie's a grifter so stop sending money'
Suddenly everywhere you look blogs and posts are proclaiming "the money Bernie has raised isn't translating into votes, so what's it really for?!?". Obviously, the idea behind this latest sick fuckery is to make you believe Bernie knows he's going to lose, so he's bilking you on the way out the door. What motivates this kind of desperation? I thought these folks were winning.

You made the claim. It's up to you to support it, really.

(35,015 posts)Thing is - Bernie hasn't given up on us for DECADES. He's been fighting for the regular peeps his entire career so trying to smear him as a grifter is just idiotic.
But yeah - the marching orders came out from Hillary Inc. and their minions dutifully comply with this latest version of character assassination.

(2,379 posts)If the money ISN'T translating into votes for Bernie, then why would his opponent ... ANY opponent ... waste energy and money bothering to attack him? Wouldn't it be more efficient to just let him spin his wheels, so to speak? If anything, this indicates the exact OPPOSITE ... that it is working and the opponent needs to take any and all measures to stop the constant flow of incoming money.

(50,793 posts)I've given to Bernie more than once and might give again. I'm happy the message is getting out that we aren't entirely a Republican-lite party. The wallet closes if Hillary is the nominee. She might get my vote in an effort to defeat Trump, but the insults and nastiness against Bernie and his supporters does not inspire me to give her campaign a dime.

(20,234 posts)I donated to Bernie.
I sure the hell can't understand individuals donating to hillary. Isn't she able to donate without limits to her own campaign? Can you imagine donating to someone with $100 million net worth? Maybe there are a lot more mega-millionaires on DU than I imagined, but I just can't wrap my head around basically a go fund me campaign for someone who's got more money than I could figure out how to spend in 10 lifetimes.

I think asking for $225,000 "donations" -- paid directly to the candidate's bank account -- qualifies you for something else altogether, but we needn't bother going into that.
