https://twitter.com/hashtag/HistoryByHillary?src=tren2 events sparked this; 1) The flat out Nancy Reagan comment, and 2) her first statement regarding the Chicago protests in which she credited "melting hearts in the statehouse" in South Carolina for taking down the confederate flag. Lots of people remember the flag came down not by legislative action but this way:
A third event happened today. She says, ""I don't know where he was when I was trying to get health care in '93 and '94,"
Um, Hillary literally standing right behind you.
Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders, 1993 Clinton and Sanders appear at Dartmouth in 1993 to promote an overhaul of health care

Apparently, she also forgot about this:

(3,017 posts)This statement today in direct contradiction of her handwritten note from Hillary (vintage 1993 when she was still using Rodham) in that picture, combined with her comment on Nancy Reagan yesterday, suggests that Hillary should be given a mental acuity test to see if she's still all here.

(7,318 posts)Remarks such as the Nancy Regan AIDS remark are not as problematic, in a mental health way. I was not concerned when a relative I ended up caring for started to get confused regarding events or details of others lives. But when that relative started to forget or incorrectly recall events she had personally experienced or details of her family life, that's when it became clear we were dealing with dementia.
Hillary Clinton has now made a number of "forgetful" unmanaged remarks that have people questioning her memory. It's probable that Clinton's lapses are just due to tiredness, or the confusion of a busy, long life that involved routinely interacting with an large number of people. On the other hand, clearly her advisers, her campaign team and even the DNC have been intent on limiting her exposure to the public and managing every appearance and utterance of hers that they can. For all our sakes, I don't want any of the reasons for that kind of tight management of her to be the same as the ones Ronald Regan's team probably had when they managed him in the last year or two of his presidency.

(3,017 posts)Twenty years ago, you could smear a political opponent and it would stick for a couple of days. By the time it was refuted you were on to another smear. That's the way the Lee Atwater smears worked and Clinton's people like Sid Blumenthal, James Carville, John Podesta and David Brock (first against the Clintons, then for them) learned from him and replicated it.
Now in the age of social media, the internet, YouTube, etc., when Hillary throws out a smear it boomerangs and hits her in the head almost before she gets the words out of her mouth. She knows Bernie Sanders never opposed single payer. He's advocated for it since he was in the U.S. Congress in 1990 and I'm sure long before that. She is just angry that he is embarrassing her over her ties to big money and closing on her in the polls.
Hillary shows plenty of mental acuity in the debates. The smears she has dropped in the last 2 debates were obviously planned in advance and carefully scripted.

There is nothing accidental about her words. They are calculated to reach some people who will never hear the rebuttal. Some of it will stick and some of it will win her votes and that's all she cares about. But sometimes she takes it so far it really bites her, like the Reagan remark.
And the good thing about social media, is that it's becoming harder and harder with each generation to be able to use lies to win votes.

(8,812 posts)Perhaps all that Bosnian sniper fire traumatized her to such an extent that it damaged her memory.
Or maybe the health care photos are faked. Just more dirty tricks from those horrible BernieBros!
