UPDATED...WORTH IT!!!!!I am a block of ice
Made it through 2 lists. 22 pages or so, about 120-125 doors.
Many people weren't home, of those I talked to, about a 50-50 split, I'd say. 2 extremely diverse neighborhoods. Plenty of Bernie signs. None for Hillary. No evidence whatsoever of a Hillary ground-game, actually.
Bernie headquarters was initially light, just a few people there dropping off lists and picking up new ones. About 20 minutes and I was out the door. When I took back the initial list though, HQ was packed! Easily 40-50 people. Jim Dean of DFA was there to apologize for his brother and motivate the troops.
Came back with that list, and most of the crew had moved on to phone banking. Full enthusiasm and resolve.
My guess is that Sanders is down, but certainly not the 20+ points the weak polling suggests. I'd say 10-15 at the most. His chances at this point are largely dependent on tonight's debate and tomorrow's townhall, and turnout. But his ground game is pretty strong with regards to GOTV.

(88,117 posts)Good for him. We talked to him several times during the 04 campaign, and we met him once when he was in Florida.
Howard Dean needs to do some apologizing for his misunderstanding of the role of superdelegates. Needs to get off his high horse.

(28,876 posts)Howard's choice to dampen our spirits at all. He definitely made it clear DFA is 110% behind Bernie.

(11,605 posts)People like you made the difference! And given the temperatures, that is true dedication. I canvassed for Obama all over in 2008 but never in weather that cold.
I would volunteer for Bernie now but I just started a new job and don't have the time to travel to other states. But I plan to help out when the primary comes to my state.

My second list I went with a partner; the companionship made such a difference.

This is fun!

(11,945 posts)but then some nasty things happened to my physical health and all I've been able to do so far is send money to Bernie and try to booster from the sidelines. And, of course, give gratitude and credit to people like you who are out there doing it -- in the snow and everything!
I'm glad it's fun for you. I'm sure you'll never forget this period of time and all that is happening.

(11,945 posts)I hadn't known it was a Manny tribute; what a thoughtful thing to do. I miss him; this place is just not as interesting and fun without him. Your loyalty to him and to the commenter (NYC Skip?) who owned the sweet dog is admirable.
