2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumHey, would you mind not harrassing us
to quit and "fall in line"? It's about as classy (and effective) as telling someone to hurry up and die. How 'bout we let this inconvenient democracy thing play out.

(53,235 posts)And, of course, I trash groups I don't like, like the Hillary Clinton group.
But, still, the pests invade my space!
I crack up at the ones I'm telling I'm putting on Ignore, and they STILL reply! Like I can see what they wrote!!!!

(11,012 posts)Except on a very temporary basis.
I now have seventeen posters on ignore and that list is growing daily.
And some of those are not likely to ever come off the "ignore" list. I simply cannot ignore the ugliness that has become a large part of some posters' repertoire.
I don't remember 2008 being quite as encompassing. Back then, I was able to ignore most of GDP. This election period, the Home Page and Greatest Page (and quite often the Latest Breaking News) are dominated by GDP posts. I'm pretty much burned out on Election 2016 already and it is only the first week of March!

(15,558 posts)and you had Sanders supporters posting this obnoxious shit, you'd be a-ok with it.

(2,161 posts)Hillary did it to Obama is 2008!
I'll be voting for Bernie in June. Calling for Bernie to drop out now just makes it harder for me to consider voting for Hillary in November, if I'm faced with that choice.

(26,060 posts)what posters on an anonymous board keep you from voting in November? That makes sense to you?

(30,481 posts)I don't expect you to fall in line. It's Clintons job to earn your vote. I also don't recall harassing you just as I don't recall you harassing me. Though I can show you where a Sanders supporter and host of this forum has harassed me, a Sanders supporter just this morning sent me an extremely nasty private message, and I have been called just about every name in the book.
I don't want either of us to have to go through that and I'm sorry you are currently feeling it.

(4,558 posts)Back in September I had 2 posts in 2 separate threads that simply pointed out that some of the behavior exhibited some cult like attributes, and even listed with references. Those 2 threads received almost simultaneous hides. Now, just outright calling us "cultists" not only stands, it gets high rec's. In a twist of irony, one of the rec's is the person I'm almost positive is the one who alerted and hid me (based on the familiar wording and punctuation error that person tends to make).
The double standard is sometimes nauseating.

(458 posts)...but have no trouble harassing others. 1) They are still wrong about Sanders 2) even if they were right, Hillary would need Sanders supporters way more than Sanders will need Hillary supporters in November.
