CNN's Jake Tapper: This Week Hillary is Fundraising from NRA Lobbyists and Goldman Sachs in DC
Elections
CNN’s Tapper Asks Podesta If Hillary Attending Lobbyist Fundraiser Undermines Her Message [VIDEO] by Steve Guest CNN anchor Jake Tapper asked Hillary Clinton’s campaign chairman John Podesta if having a fundraiser with lobbyists from Goldman Sachs “undermines” Clinton’s message and drive “supporters to Bernie Sanders.” During “The Lead” on Tuesday, Podesta downplayed the possible conflict of interest and said “we’re going to raise money that we need to compete.” Tapper said, “John, according to the Sunlight Foundation and The Intercept, you’re hosting a fundraiser for Secretary Clinton in Washington, along with several lobbyists who work for firms that lobby on behalf of Goldman Sachs, the NRA. Isn’t this the fundraiser exactly the kind thing that drives supporters to Bernie Sanders?” “Well look, I think we’re trying to raise the resources that are necessary with respect to her positions,” Podesta said. “For example, there’s no one who’s been stronger, louder, in taking on the gun lobby than Hillary Clinton. She has a record in sharp contrast to Senator Sanders who’s voted five times against the Brady Bill. Voted to provide immunity to gun owners. He’s shifted, to some extent, we welcome that, in the course of this campaign. But she’s going to take on the gun lobby, take on Wall Street with comprehensive plan.” Tapper interjected, “But aren’t you afraid that it undermines her pitch on Wall Street and the gun lobby when she takes money from federal lobbyists who lobby on behalf of Wall street and the gun lobby?” “Well, as I understand your reference to the gun lobbies, the person no longer does that, that’s a good thing for the country because we need to beat back the gun lobby. And I think what’s important is that she can stand up, as she always has to special interests, to the people who are taking our country in the wrong direction, and she’ll do that,” Podesta claimed. “But as you know, there’s a lot of money coming at us from the other side and we’re going to raise resources that we need to raise to compete both in these primaries and then if we become the nominee, as I think we will, in the general election. Super PACs are already advertising against her and they have been since Iowa. And we’re going to raise money that we need to compete.” TAPPER's Comment at the very end of Video: http://dailycaller.com/2016/03/01/cnns-tapper-asks-podesta-if-hillary-attending-lobbyist-fundraiser-undermines-her-message-video/

5. It's This Kind Of Crap That Should Resonate With Hillary Supporters And Let Them Realize That They..
are being played for fools by Hillary and her campaign. She tells them and us one thing and goes and does just the opposite.
This is why we need to see her transcripts of the Goldman speeches. I just don't understand how those that support Hillary can do so - so blindly? She is playing you and all of us for suckers. I have to believe that Hillary supporters are smart enough to see this for themselves. If not - there will be massive buyers remorse - should she become president. |

10. It's Amazing That No Hillary Supporter Is Commenting On This....
When it comes to poll numbers showing Hillary ahead or wins in primaries or caucuses - the Hillary supporters are out like flies to honey to rub it in and gloat. Then when an OP like the one here posted by KoKo - that shows the real Hillary and how she makes fools of her supporters - not a comment by them as to how they are able to justify her actions.

19. I think we know more now about who funds our Politicos
and what they demand than even when Obama ran in 2008. The problem is that the Clintons have made a life career of "Pay to Play." We aren't just voting for Hillary...we are voting for Clinton Term 3. And, sadly, they have commercialized the role of the Presidency by their actions after the Presidency.
Who will "Clinton Administration 3" be responsible to? Those who paid for them to run, or the people who didn't have the big bucks to buy their time? ![]() |

41. I loved this part...
Tapper interjected, “But aren’t you afraid that it undermines her pitch on Wall Street and the gun lobby when she takes money from federal lobbyists who lobby on behalf of Wall street and the gun lobby?” Can it be that Bernie Sanders' unheralded calling out of the corrupt bullshit of campaign finance has wormed its way onto CNN? Would this question have been asked of Podesta if Sanders had not entered the race and raised this issue repeatedly? I must say I'm shocked (and not like that French guy in "Casablanca" ![]() Really. It's NOT shocking that she does it. It IS shocking that she really, really, really doesn't care if we know it. Podesta has no answer to the question--just wet babbling. You'd think they would have had an answer all slicked up. No. They don't need to answer for anything. But Bernie, yeah, he makes one difficult decision about good and bad provisions of a crime bill, consults his conscience, votes the way he thinks is best for the country, takes money from nobody, still earns a D- from the NRA (and VT a rural hunting state) and, hey, he's gun-crazy, he's a hypocrite, he loves murderers, he's the "Demon Barber of Fleet Street"! Here was my rule-of-thumb for sussing out Bush junta statements: Whatever they say, the opposite is true; and whatever they accuse others of doing, they are doing or planning to do. I need to start applying this to Hillary Clinton. |

shark jump. Not quite though. Good try.
One lobbyist in a big lobbying firm that doesn't lobby for the NRA any more does not mean she is taking money from the gun lobby. That's nearly as stupid as using the term "Wall street", which actually means nothing. It is a generalized term that is used to demonize big bankers, or hedge fund guys, but actually is so goddamned broad that it means NOTHING. |
