A vote is a vote to the desperate right wing.
Our (Canada's) current prime minister was one of the Reform Party assholes back in the 80's and 90's that never publicly embraced nor denied these racist scumbags. The Reform Party could have gained respectability by distancing themselves from this, but it relied on religious extremists and white supremacists to provide numbers to its base. A vote is a vote.
The welfare queen in this photo is such despicable scum, but is still allowed to have a voice and a vote. Democracy is great because it requires, nay, demands decent human beings to stand up and be counted and put down this kind of ignorance and hate and depravity.
My American cousins, I love you all. Please do the right thing. Stand up. Vote.
The asshole in this picture will. Just one of you will cancel his vote. Ten of you will stomp him.

These stories are now such a consistent part of the American criminal landscape that most large police departments have bias-crime detectives, and many focus on skinheads as part of their gang enforcement strategies. Racist skinheads have also become a regular element in prisons and juvenile corrections facilities. The threat of a skinhead rally can lead whole communities to mobilize in opposition. The U.S. military has had to contend with racist skinheads in its ranks. Hate rock from racist skinhead bands has bled into the flow of rebellious teen music. And skinheads have taken their "boot parties" from the street to the Internet, targeting young people for recruitment into their supposed movement.

The problem with racist skinheads isn't that they're skinheads, it's that they're racists.

Here's an example where an adjective changes the situation an awful lot:

Compare A to B.

A: Bob's not coming into work today because he fell on the ice and was injured.

B: Bob's not coming into work today because he fell on the ice and was fatally injured.

One would assume that there would be a different reaction from the audience based on the inclusion of that one word.

I know that it wouldn't bother most people, but I think that's precisely why we have to stick up for minorities and subcultures - precisely because they aren't most people, but people still.

I got so upset about people not understanding what skinheads are a few months ago that I made a thread about it.

The outcome basically was that most people decided that they preferred their ignorance to facts, and thought that it was just a lot easier to malign an entire subculture than to learn something.

God, I love it there.

Not the Rockies or the coast of Maine or the Redwoods but it is

standing in for the missing "i". "It is time to go inside now." It's time to go inside now." -- those contractions usually reflect a more casual, less formal kind of speech.

"Its" all by itself simply refers to a noun (person, place or thing) --

"It is wonderful to own retrievers. We're on our third golden, but as a teen I had a black lab. Its tail could knock over small children, so we had to be careful. Nothing like these dogs as family pets. It's like having another child!" [In context these grammar things sometimes make more sense!]

"Thank you! Now, can I talk about the issues!!?"

I'm certain that the majority of the poor white vote that goes to Republicans comes from racists, and racism is their primary issue. If they actually thought for a second that voting Republican wouldn't perpetuate their racist views, they wouldn't do it.

But with narrow-minded dullards, you have to start where they are blind & work from there.
IMHO, most of our political differences are based on "physical" differences (race, gender, location, etc.) If we can ever get beyond that, we could REALLY make some progress as a nation!
