Will you be breaking up with MN, WI, IA, etc. in person or by text?

(14,023 posts)We get it.. you're so VERY proud of sHillary, and will try to hector everyone endlessly to
just settle for HER!!... but...time and a place for everything, right? Surely you should be at the Victory Party thrown by Alice Walton, Henry the K, and the Boys at Goldman Sachs, anyway? Off you go...

These are Democratic voters...every day people picking Hillary over Bernie.

Did you not realize that all 50 states including US territories have a say in who our nominee is?
New to the process?

Beartracks
(12,809 posts)Just sayin.' Turnout was dismal. About 12% of the electorate (I presume that means only the Democratic electorate, but I'm not sure) is all that could get to the polls? Republicans seem more motivated there. Ugh.

dems will get killed in 2018 midterm.that ensures GOP controls 2020 reidstricting.assuring gop control of house till 2032 at earliest and perhapes longer.
with gerrymandering and citizen's united gop can't be beaten if Trump wins.trump could go to 10% approval in 2018 and GOP keeps congress.

Beartracks
(12,809 posts)... today's lackluster showing at the polls was more a symptom of Dems who were confident she'd win the primary, rather than being a harbinger of low enthusiasm for the general election in November if she is indeed our candidate.

(36,437 posts)Sanders cracked 40% of the people's votes in only one South Carolina county - he lost that county 55%-44%.
In some counties, he failed to crack 10% (yes, 10%) of the vote.
What we are watching is a campaign with moderately good self-presentation run up against actual voters. Now, you can get a better message, or do better persuading. That's what you have available.
So get to it.

(36,437 posts)I agree that candidates should stay in the race as long as they are viable and perhaps longer if there is some argument to go forward with.
If you're suggesting we have single-day primaries prior to any national election, I'd be fine with that, too. We're all playing under the same rules in this particular election, and Hillary won the people's vote (that is, the Democratic primary-voting people's vote) in South Carolina very nearly 3-1.

infiltrating the democratic party from the
bottom to the top.
Yes, that takes work, and I noticed just in
my district a strong fight against the entrenched
party apparachics.
It has to be remembered that people in power
are trying everything to keep it.

(28,858 posts)The media is a wholly owned subsidiary of the
corporate rightwing.
The DNC is headed by corporate conservative
Democrats who are aligned with the 1%.
The big corporate and banking money is going
to the Democrat who is taking their money and
will do nothing to rein them in.
And for some reason a really good people's
candidate like Sanders can't gain traction among
the people who need him the most.
Go figure! It's like reverse looking-glass world.
No wonder I'm reading Lewis Carroll right now.

(9,385 posts)I just read via the NYT that McConnell told Congressional Repubs that they can run ads against Trump to distance themselves from him. Also that they will stonewall Trump just like they have Dems.
I've never seen that happen before. The Repubs are super threatened by Trump
