If the economy continues to show improvement and the other side continues with antics like the anti contraception game it will be a good break for the president to the plus side.

He's done a great job, and the GOP has gone totally insane ... and so those realities mean we need to make sure that nothing goes wrong.

I think of it like your team has been driving, and you are on the 5 yard line ... you should score. But you CAN'T throw an interception that the other team returns for a TD ... that's a 14 point swing.

We have to stay focused.

Many states have ALEC written laws to suppress democracy. And Republican still own the voting machines, AFAIK. Without the honest count, I wonder if he can get the landslide one might expect against this crew of poopy-heads.

Add to that that most of Obama's administration are drug warriors and neo-cons, it may not encourage lefty voters.

I'd rather see Obama than a Republican as POTUS, but I wish there were more of a difference. (immoderate checks to make sure he is not posting this in the Obama Group ... it's OK. Made that mistake once. Also Campaign Obama is a lot nicer guy than President Obama.)

Until he chose Palin, I could have been almost relaxed about him winning. He fluffed his message trying to appeal to the base though, and lost it even more afterwards. The sight of Palin jetting in to call off the Tea Party hounds in 2010 was an indignity he didn't deserve.

I'll confess that mine isn't at the level of '08. I'll work hard for my local democratic congressional races but I'm a politically interested person. Those more on the edge may share my lack of enthusiasm for Obama and not turn out in the numbers we need to return congress to the dems.

Sure if it starts to look close I'll probably start to sweat and take more of an interest. But Obama sort of lost me with his lack of enthusiasm for my interests during his first term. Yeah I know I know - he's the only game in town and I'm happy he is president but I will confess that I was less sold on Obama in '08 than I was sold on the idea of moving beyond the reptilians who had controlled the White House for 8 years.

to the GOP tortoise.

First off, Israel will attack Iran, and thereby jack up gas prices. Sadly, many Zionists will use this as the "Obama is a nasty (censored) that hates Jews), you know Liieberman is praticing that tune.

Second, a brokered convention means anything is possible, from Sarah Palin to Jeb Bush.

Third, SUPERPACS.. There is nothign stopping anybody, from the Vatican to the Saudis to the Chinese, from vomiting as much money as possible.

To quote Robin Trower "This is the day of the Eagle, not the dove."

and it has nothing to do with how crazy the rethugs are. Even if someone like McCain was running without Palin, I still could never see myself voting rethug, no way!! I don't know if he will win in a landslide, lets not count our chickens before they hatch. It just seems like a no brainer, but anything can happen between now and Nov, especially with election fraud on the rise again.

As long as Europe sorts out it's problems, and Iran doesn't start trouble, or anyone else for that matter, he should do okay. Not sure about the senate. He doesn't need any Katrina like natural disaster either, or another underwater oil well leak.

The good part is that the GOP isn't in any real position to do anything on these topics. The bad news is, to a great degree neither can Obama.

I think so.

the press/media needs to say its close for their ratings.
but it will be a landslide (which is why any sane republican didn't run this time).

Chris Christie couldn't even waddle his way to win NJ electoral votes, let alone anywhere else
and Jeb knows enough to stay out til next time
(though I would love to see President Obama score a landslide over him so there would never be a nexttime for Jeb).
