way, saying that she was something that "rhymed with rich." The press picked it up and she was forced to apologize. To her credit, she apologized personally and directly by phone. She apparently learned her lesson, because she got on her husband's staff when they went after Hillary during the campaign that bounced them from the WH.

Laura Bush (Joker Look-alike married to Little Bush, The Wee Cowboy) accused Hillary Clinton of being a "bad housekeeper." Her furniture was scuffed, she didn't care for her decorating scheme, etc. Jeez, amazing that Madame Secretary made it to the Senate and the State Department with that bad mark on her record!!!

Laura Bush was a LBJ Democrat and is a supporter of marriage equality. And when Dorothy Bush ,daughter of Barbara Bush married , I believe Dick Gephatrdt's Chief Of Staff or some other prominent Democrat, and some Republican criticized her, Barbara Bush to her eternal credit, said it was none of their " G-d damn business."

Then again, Barbara (Washington's sister) Bush AND her husband were pro-choice before he got pushed to the right and forced to toe Reagan's line, and she was forced to STFU and "no comment"/"I'm not the President" over the matter.

Dorothy Bush finally got married again? Well, that's grand. I remember they were trying to fix her up with Congressman David Drier (who used to "escort" ditzy Bo Derek to events where he couldn't go stag) and she couldn't figure out why he wasn't at all interested!

Ah, here's the details of her nuptials:

In 1992, German American Koch married Dorothy Bush, the only living daughter of George H. W. Bush, at a private ceremony held at Camp David—the only couple to ever be married there in the nation's history. They have two children plus the two children from her first marriage.
Koch is a Democrat who started his career in politics working for Tony Coelho and was part of his campaign to become House Majority Whip. He would later become staff director for House Majority Leader Richard Gephardt before joining the Wine Institute.[1] Since becoming President and CEO in June 2003, membership has grown 70% to over 1,000 Californian wineries and affiliated businesses which are predominately family owned and operated.
He has a substantial equity interest in Central European Distribution Corp., the company that manufactures and distributes vodka in Poland.[2]
Koch is active in raising funds to find a cure for Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis.[3]

Democrats being contemptuous of Laura Bush the way the right has been on Michelle. That said, Laura Bush seemed like a decent person. Ann Romney is so full of herself and her holier than thou attitude justifies my dislike if her. She acts like Mitt has already won and those who did not support him are worthy of her contempt.

She's typical of many upper-class, privileged, dyed-blonde, cell-phone-yakking, massive-SUV-driving, overly-tanned, smug women one sees all over this country, who live in exurban gated communities, condos, McMansions or apartments in very-high-rent locales and who have nannies, maids, yard-care service, a vacation place or two, and who represent the very worst aspects of "success" in 'Murica...IOW, a republican wife. Offense to those who fit my description is intended!
If this is stereotyping, I plead quite guilty, and extend apologies to any progressive who might fit the description.

I suspect if I were to meet her personally and have dinner with her, I suspect she would be very nice. Besides, I don't know her well enough to really cast a vote. I've listened to both D's & R's talk of how much they actually like the other, they just have a different view of how to accomplish many of the same goals.

Edited to add that, Mormon's are generally exceptionally nice people.

Every Mormon I've ever known (not many, thankfully) has been wretched.

The latest was a woman who was someone's date that came to a dinner party my brother and I hosted. She was distressed there was wine. She left in a huff over it, backed out of driveway in a hurry, nailed my brother's van. Kept going (people on front lawn saw the whole thing), stopped up the road to check her own car and then drove off.

She hit that van HARD. Did a lot of damage. We could see from a distance that her own car was damaged too. She tried to avoid my brother's calls. Begrudgingly filed a claim, lied and said no damage to her car. A real dishonest and rather snooty person.

The others I've known have been co-workers. Very nasty, dishonest and entitled. Hard to believe they sign up new members, considering how unpleasant all the ones I've known were. I formed those opinions long before I knew they were Mormons.

Hell, even their 18 year old "elders" are rather obnoxious at the door.
