Sub-standard

Standards are great. It's important to have a well-rounded candidate. That being said, this hard sell being made by HRC about foreign policy experience is awkward at best. Very few former SOS have gone on to be president, six to be specific. Over half were Founding Fathers. The last was Buchanan. Many, 22, had some military experience of some kind and a couple were generals. I guess that qualifies as foreign policy experience of a sort.

PBO had no significant foreign policy experience when he took office in 2009.
GWB, while yes in air national guard, never left the country during that time in service and had no significant foreign policy experience when he took office in 2001.
WJC had no significant foreign policy experience when he took office in 1992.

Here is where it gets awkward.

HRC had no significant foreign policy experience when she ran for president in 2008.

By the standard she has created, through the extolling of the virtues of her foreign policy experience, she has disqualified her 2008 self.

Just sayin...
