2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumHillary supporters: What Is Hillary's Plan to Reduce the Growing Wealth Gap in the U.S.?
Bernie Sanders discusses how the economic meltdown of 2008 severely impacted people's wealth.
But as the years pass, this problem has gotten worse, not better. It does not appear that Hillary has any specific and concrete plan, with details, to remedy this situation. Bernie does have concrete and detailed plans.
The wealth of white households was 13 times the median wealth of black households in 2013, compared with eight times the wealth in 2010, according to a new Pew Research Center analysis of data from the Federal Reserves Survey of Consumer Finances.
Likewise, the wealth of white households is now more than 10 times the wealth of Hispanic households, compared with nine times the wealth in 2010.
The current gap between blacks and whites has reached its highest point since 1989, when whites had 17 times the wealth of black households.
The current white-to-Hispanic wealth ratio has reached a level not seen since 2001.

Before you support Hillary, shouldn't you demand that she provide very specific and detailed plans for remedying this situation?

(6,960 posts)Bill, Hillary and Chelsea have made hundreds of millions of dollars under the present system.
Her campaign has collected hundreds of millions of dollars under the Citizens United regimen.
Her elitist pals are going to make billions and billions and billions more dollars under TPP.
As Nixon's Attorney General, John Mitchell, said: "Watch what we do, not what we say."
Her plans will increase the wealth gap.

(11,833 posts)look at Hillary Clinton's web site and summarize Clinton's plan for reducing wealth inequality.
And a challenge to Clinton supporters: look at Bernie Sanders' web site and summarize Sanders' plan for reducing wealth inequality.
I'm not trying to convince anyone to vote for either, I think they're both pretty good in different way. But I think it's a really good exercise to at least learn more about what each candidate is proposing. It may even help dispel some of the stereotypes that each candidate's more fanatical supporters are pretty ignorant of what the other candidate is actually proposing.
