This is an incredibly hard fought battle between those who have and those who strive to have more in life.
IMHO you need both hard work, and also a little luck, to succeed in life.
But those scales can be tipped to reward those who work hard with the right person in office.
Most people do not want anything for free, they just want a chance.
So give a little bit of your time, and money to help other's succeed.

Nothing worth fighting for is easy!

(21,210 posts)of course we could do with less hostility in regards to other countries, but I do believe our kids are becoming more tolerant and the world is becoming more 'blended' with interracial and cross cultural marriages and that is a wonderful thing, as it eventually leads to a more accepting society.
Unfortunately acceptance takes time and I think we are living through the struggles of that time, let us strive to not divide.

(21,210 posts)it is akin to when an Australian friend had to try and explain to friends why people did not leave the city of New Orleans when they knew a significant hurricane was approaching, they were mostly POC.
The question was why did not the black people leave? In her circle of friends in a far away country they just did not grasp the inequality and that it affected more POC than it might have in their country. She said it was almost incomprehensible to some.
We lose our status by not just one cut, it is the continual cuts afflicted on people year after year that take their toll.
Astute observation, thanks!
