2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumBernie is a one issue candidate?
If that were true (it is not) then the issue would be:
Democracy for all. No more; 'If you have money you are in charge'.
Democracy is about People. Not banks, not husbands, not who are your friends. It is about People from all over, everyone. It is inclusive, not exclusive, and that is what Bernie stands for.
Bernie is tied in this race for the party's nomination. That is something that was unthinkable to many of the elites and party leaders just a few months ago. Bernie has done the impossible and now he's going to bring the country back to Real Democracy.

(13,685 posts)All the best Democrats will be in his camp before long. And they will be inspired to become more like Bernie and the way he campaigns. The country is already better off and the limit of how good we can be is the sky.

(17,320 posts)come to the assumption that all politicians are crooks and that one has to be a crook to get elected.
The last honest President was Carter and hot very popular in Georgia but is popular all over World. But, we've just passed a law down here that will protect the Ku KLux Klan while persecuting gays and lesbian citizens.
Americans might just be too dumb to ever elect good, honest and wise politicians. They seem to admire criminal behavior.

(17,320 posts)If Bernie were to be elected, he would probably only be able to achieve some of his goals , which would be a great start.
Whether he would wish to go for another four years would remain to be seen. But, if whoever followed him ran on the ticket to continue the process for another 4 to 8 years, much more could be achieved. The rough blueprint has already been laid out by Bernie.
Others could follow his plans and build on them.
