2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumE-mail from the Bern himself: Results from Nevada
The final results are in from Nevada and it looks like were going to leave another state with roughly the same number of delegates as Hillary Clinton, maybe down just a few.I want to be completely clear with you about what this result means: Nevada was supposed to be a state "tailor made" for the Clinton campaign, and a place she once led by almost 40 points. But today, we sent a message that will stun the political and financial establishment of this country: our campaign can win anywhere.
There are 26 primaries and caucuses in the next month, and three straight positive results for our campaign are sure to prompt an over-the-top response from the millionaires and billionaires who are funding our opponent and her many super PACs.
We have to be prepared for their best shot, because its coming:
Make a contribution to our campaign tonight and we are going to win this Democratic primary, the White House, and take our country back from the billionaire class.
Were closing the gap dramatically in states that have yet to vote, and theres a path to victory for our political revolution. If we continue to stand together, well continue to win.
In solidarity,
Bernie Sanders

(9,385 posts)I think getting within 10 points (at last counting it's 4) in NV is fantastic! Not discouraged one bit by this, just really shocked to learn what a rinky dink system NV has. Damn, that needs some overhauling badly.
I guess it's Harry Reid's doing -- it's probably designed that way to ensure a win for the candidate that protects his and all the Establishment's cash cows... HRC. Shady, Harry.

(7,321 posts)I donated to Bernie's campaign directly a while ago, intend to donate tonight. But I just want every penny to count.. go where it is supposed to go.
There might be a small % for the transaction fee for credit cards or whatever, but even Bernie's own site points me to actblue so I just give through them. Been working pretty good for Bernie so far.
Actblue is a blessing for underdogs.

Latest entrance poll breakdown:
White: 49-47% Sanders
Black: 76-22% Clinton
Latino: 53-45% Sanders
As of this moment, he's down by less than 500 votes
If that pattern holds, and builds, Sanders is still very much in this race

(4,552 posts)It's nice to feel a part of this.
I was kinda feeling down, but after some great comments here at DU, and after getting Senator Sander's email, I feel a lot better.
Onward and upward.
I do have to hold off on a donation today (car payment and auto insurance due this week) , but will get one to him in the next two weeks for sure.

Rolling up my proverbial sleeves.

(12,081 posts)This is what we are seeing nation wide. In states where Hillary once led by 30 to 40 points Bernie is narrowing that gap significantly. This race is still very close and far from over.

(357 posts)...we're already on monthly,
plus kicked in extra after NH...
We gave a lot in '08 to Obama, and were ecstatic when he won.
But then when BO made the back-room deal with big pharma in June of 09, we felt duped.
We feel like Bernie is the last chance.
We're fortunate, both professionals (electrical engineer who works in the tech industry, and I'm a dietitian and author of a popular 4th ed. text). Two kids in college though $$$ (NY and MA) who will be voting for Bernie.
We love this country.
But it's not the country we grew up believing in.
We're sooooooo tired of the DLC/Third Way BS.
