(15,429 posts)If you limit Wall Street to Wall Street NYC, only the NYSE qualifies. NOTHING ELSE.

(1,890 posts)That was really weak and she lumped in the borrowers along with Wall Street and everyone else.

(15,429 posts)she must have "lied" because she didn't go to Wall Street, NYC.
If that's the beef, then Goldman Sachs, Chase, Bank of America, and everybody else they lump into "Wall Street" aren't really a part of "Wall Street".
Look at a map of lower Manhattan some time. Wall Street barely exists and the only financial institution there is the NYSE.

When did it start? It seems like in 2012 we were a reality-based community that didn't try to do things like unskew polls.
It all seems to have started in summer 2013 and there was no looking back.

(15,429 posts)The Deustche Bank NYC branch sits at 60 Wall Street.
The NYSE sits at 11 Wall Street.
So based upon the argument put forth in the OP, "Wall Street" is comprised of the New York Stock Exchange and Deutsche Bank.
I guess we could extend that to all holdings of Euronext, too, since they own the NYSE now.

Do I have that right?

(10,110 posts)This started way before Dec 2007.
It's kind of like the Titanic hitting the iceberg. They saw the iceberg before before it struck. But it was too late. The boat momentum carrying that wad of bad mortgages couldn't stop or turn at that point. It was going to crash and nearly everybody knew it. There were too few lifeboats. This is the point where Hillary shows up to say "cut it out".
This is classic Hillary deception.
